hey mate ,i saw that you are after a newer climatic system. Did this to my car a couple of days ago. If you will  buy all the parts necesery it's a piece of cake, trust me. I bought a couple of parts from the brakers ,a couple i bought online, and others from vw dealership. Follow the DIY in the link and you will have a 100% working new climatic system. Here's the link https://www.drive.net/l/4834033/

I'm so pleased with the weekends transformation on my car!
To start I got some 17" Monzas fitted, I Then picked up and fitted some ED30 Rear lights and an ED30 Rear valance! Finally my rear end doesn't look so cheap!
It may look odd for now as I need to get an exhaust sorted at some stage but I've spent a few pennies recently :\, gave it a quick wash this morning before work and now I'm not so ashamed to show it :)

Before(ish)

During

After :D

Not sure if you have gains from a GTI exhaust system. You'd have for sure from a turbo-back exhaust system from Milltek or any of the likes. Most of the gains should be from the DP and sports cat.

Until then you only really need two chromed tips soldered to the back box. It's what I did to mine (GT Sport).

Ah shoduchi that sounds like exactly what I need? How would I go about doing that? and did you do it yourself or garage job?

In the meantime before I sort out a proper climatic control these will suffice!

I chose the tips (mine are genuine Skoda Octavia vRS) and went to an exhaust shop. They cut my curved down tips, got two curved tubes to prolong the back box and soldered the tips to fit perfectly. The chrome tips cost me around 50 £, IIRC, and the labour around 35 £. You have plenty of tips to chose from. I think 90 mm tips have the perfect size after having the BCS Powervalve TBE system fitted in my Ed. 30 (my new gold standard). Search for tips like these, for example:

That's extremely helpful, did you go through Skoda to get the tips sorry or did you buy them externally then get them fitted through the exhaust shop?

For £85 that's an immense finish! So essentially i'm looking for a 90mm twin tipped chrome fitting  get looking tonight when i'm back off work!

in the mean time i've fitted my genuine vw centre caps and some nut covers (not sure on the nut covers yet though)

I searched online for the part number and ordered the tips from my usual VW dealer. One of my first buys there in 2009. Many euros spent there since (with increasing discounts too).

I spent 85 £ but in the GT Sport, that picture is from my Ed. 30 with a BCS Powervalve turbo-back exhaust (much more expensive).

These are the pictures from my GT Sport. The tips are smaller, so I now advise bigger tips (90 mm):

They were very dirty tips here:

IMO they are a bit low at the moment, they were better aligned with my previous genuine GTI rear valance.

Both of your cars are lovely... so in that picture are you running 70mm or 90mm?
