Exhaust help
« on: October 05, 2015, 11:42:55 pm »
Hi, I have been given a cat back exhaust off a friend who sold his car, he purchased it on the car so I don't actually know what it is! I've had the exhaust fitted but I want a down pipe de cat to fit but I'm not sure what to go for. I don't want a to expensive option though I've seen the scorpion one awesome have on there website but will this fit? Thanks in advance

If you don't know what the exhaust is then it's pretty unlikely that one of us will know what will and won't fit it. Pop into a local exhaust specialist and ask them to make you up a decat pipe, saves the disappointment of ordering one which won't fit due to wrong pipe diameter or something

The joint that attached to the standard exhaust is 2.5" then it opens up to 2.75"... Most of the down pipes I've Seen are 3" can you get a reducer?

Yep you can either order one yourself to the specifications you request from the likes of ebay or take it to an exhaust specialist to fit it and they will have more than like have what you need

The furthest I plan on going is stage 2 now can you use the stock down pipe and just have a de cat pipe made to connect to the catback? I've read a few comments of people saying 2.5" is enough unless your looking at 350+bhp? Cheers
