My gear gaiter has been in a bad state for a while. Wasn't brilliant when I bought the car but has got worse over time.

We had a gt sport come into work that had been in a ditch so I was able to get a fresh one just needed a wipe up  :happy2:

Yeah was really easy. Just pop the surround out with a plastic trim tool, then pull up on the knob really hard, then you will see a plastic ring holding the gator to the knob, just prize that off with a screwdriver and put the new 1 back on in the reverse order. I did get  one off ebay like this one. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=271323199505&globalID=EBAY-GB but it was cr@p and it's just ended up in the draw.

So we got an audi a4 in which was having new exhaust tips so I decided to polish the old ones up and put them on the golf as I heard on here that the fit over the old gti trims.
Easy fit just needed a bit of persuasion with a rubber mallet  :signLOL:

Also due to this heat I decided to get so gas in the ac

Nice work so far.

The tail pipes are a nice little cheap upgrade, done that myself a few months back while Ive been saving for for my BCS exhaust. Pleased to report it on order due to be delivered next week. I like the way they reflect of your freshly painted rear valance.

Thanks mate. I wouldn't mind a bcs for myself but I have my baby in the car and like it when he sleeps  :signLOL:

I'm surprised that it reflects as the cars filthy due to dust from road works by my house but I will hopefully get it washed at the weekend  :happy2:

Mines only 9 months so it's nice when he's asleep rather than screaming at a noisy car lol especially as he screamed when I started the motorbike up the other day  :signLOL:

My 16 months young son goes bruuu bruuu and sounds like broom broom   :driver: :signLOL: so cute and only when I put the pedal down not wot.

Haha can't wait till mines a bit older and I can have him enjoying it like that haha

Haven't updated this for a while.
I noticed that the aerial seal was split and I didn't want to end up with a leak so I had ordered a new one from tps.

For those that would want a quick guide (5door)

Tools used
Trim clip remover
25 torx  screwdriver
Torch
22mm spanner
10mm ratchet spanner
Magnet
10mm socket and ratchet

First removed the upper trim by using the trim clip remover and pulling downwards.

Then removed the airbag logos on the c pillar trims and removed the Torx 25 screws ( 1 each side )
Then removed the 2 10mm nuts and pulled the c pillar trims inwards towards the centre of the car

Once this is done used the 10mm ratchet spanner and removed the 2 10mm nuts holding the curtain air bag igniters in place and moved out of the way slightly so I could unplug the aerial. Then removed the 22mm nut on the bottom of the aerial and removed form the roof.
Then i slid the new seal on had to use a bit of wd40 as I didn't want to split the new one.  Then refitted it all in the reverse order. Only a 30min job

New fitted
