Ordered my crows foot spanners today, they'll be in at 3pm!

O-Ring will be in VW on Wednesday

Sensor arrived this morning.

Gas system on Thursday.

@lukemk5gti
just to give you a heads up on my aircon problem.
went to see my mechanic this morning to book the car in to have the aircon and a few other bits sorted.
he hooked the car up to his diagnostic machine and was able to tell me that the compressor was actually working.
a few other faults for other things showed up so he cleared them all.
on my way home the aircon started to work perfectly!!
going to see if it continues to work until i bring the car back to him and if it does he ill service and regas it anyway.
if it stops again he will rescan the car for faults and fix the problem either way.
just glad to have a nice cool cr with this great weather we are having :driver:

That was the same as mine. Compressor is fine and air con worked intermittently.

It was the G65 sensor failing.

Ok lads, need some help!!

Fitted the new G65 and gassed the system.

Air con still not blowing cold.

The error code showing the faulty G65 is now gone after VCDS scanning but I have a new code shown below in it's place:
01314 - Engine Control Module
            004 - No Signal/Communication - Intermittent

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Did that!!

Now I'm scanning measuring blocks in car and while I have the fans full blast on cold that the compressor is 0A

That sound like a faulty compressor? Wouldn't that show in VCDS?

I've read another thread on here and there's also a sensor on the compressor itself so that could be fault although I'd simply replace the compressor to not waste anymore time or money.
I would think it would show a faulty compressor. look ot up in vcds (auto hvac) in try swithing the compressor on, if that fails replace compressor.

Turned the engine on and scanned measuring blocks again and it shows compressor now running?

Easiest way to check if it's working is pop the hood and check if the centre of the compressor rotating?, if yes compressor working. Then turn off ac and check and now it should not be rotating.

Very rookie question. Where is the compressor located? I thought it was half hidden under the passenger side cowling

Got it!

So I turned ignition on but not the engine so I could hear it better.

That compressor is not making any noise. I can only hear a fan behind the passenger side cowling.

Any other way I can rule out the compressor being faulty through vcds?

Engine has to be running in order for ac to work. It's opposite the sensor you replaced  :signLOL:

Does engine have to be running though? Turned ignition over and fans were blowing.

Anyway. The engine is making so much noise that I can't hear the compressor rocking over! How else can I hear it?

Is changing the compressor a big job?
