Easy to fit. Get yourself some plastic trim tools.  You will need a fuel switch too.

cheers dude. I'd rather get OEM stuff than the example provided that's shipped from china. Do they literally plug straight in? Can i order like MK6 gti ones (i am assuming mk6 ones are chrome tipped!)

I think the tipped ones are off scirocco or passats.

Will cost you a fair bit.

They plug straight in but the passenger door handles are a bitch to take off, and you need to remove the door card for the fuel switch.

Nothing wrong with made in China  My switches have been fitted for over 3 years without any problems Still work and the chrome is intact   Have a look on "boldsport"  When you see the dealer prices you may consider HK or China to be better after all

I managed to fit my fuel switch without removing the door card.
I was in my infancy with pulling my GTI to bits back then. Although possible, I don't recommend it. If I'd known how to do it as I do now, it would actually be faster removing the door card.

Mine are also eBay switches and are still looking like new after almost two years.

This thread has saved me from posting a new one. Can you get the chrome mirror switch with just the heated function (not with the power folding function). Or if you get the one with the power folding function will the heated function work as normal?

Hello mate; i bought this one: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152006807454?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT which doesn't have the power mirror thingy (as my car doesn't ahve power mirrors). I can't tell if the heater function works or not but i assume that it does. for the sake of just over a fiver it's worth trying and when winter comes see what happens.

I've just bought these. I'll let you know what they are like when they arrive. They claim to be OEM VW original so should fit perfectly. Didn't consider the power fold option on the wing mirror switch but can't hurt to have it if I ever decide to upgrade to folding mirrors!

Don't bother!! They are clearly not OEM and, to me they don't look right when installed. The bottom edge of the window logo is almost underneath the trim, which unless someone tells me otherwise isn't right. Serves me right for trying to be a cheapskate!!

The switches sold by Bold Sport and some by Aliexpress have the window symbol in the right place. I got mine from Bold Sport and can't fault them.

Grabbed my full set off eBay a few years ago and they are aligned correctly, TBF though the above wouldn't bother me.

I bought some off eBay and they were... rubbish!!!  :ashamed:

The plastic was a different shade of grey on the passenger switch to the drivers side, plus they didn't look quite right (the switch mechanism didn't feel right either), binned them and brought them from the dealers  :phew:
