White Headlight Bulbs
« on: September 16, 2016, 03:51:02 pm »
Im looking for some white style halogen bulbs before I get round to doing a projector/hid conversion.

I've had a look on here for previous threads and the last time they were updated was 2014 so just to see iff anything has come out recently that people are happy with.

I had a cheap set off ebay which had the look i wanted, but they both burned out after about 3 weeks (you get what you pay for i guess) So i then though okay ill "Splash out" on some Phillips White vision bulbs

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-White-Vision-Halogen-pieces/dp/B00MZQUIRW/ref=sr_1_sc_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1474036947&sr=8-2-spell&keywords=phillipbs+car+bulb

They weren't even close to being white, the box rates them at 4300k...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature

On the old threads people are recommending the M Tech super whites but they are rated at 4350k so does anyone run these? My concern is they are rated almost the same as the Phillips that were not white at all!

Cheers

Get the Osram Night Breaker Unlimited if you're after range and better visibility. Philips has good bulbs too but more expensive.

I had osram night breakers and they still had a yellow tinge but were whiter than the stock bulbs

Night breakers are decent however not white, but white bulbs are really bad for vision

I use PIAA Xtreme white plus bulbs, amazing light output/range and also a great colour too.  It pricey at £50-60 for halogens but you obviously get what you pay for. Osram night breaker unlimited are also great bulbs, I fitted them into my missus Mini Cooper.

I've just fitted the Philips White Vision on the ED and have no complaints great range and visibility plus a lot whiter than the standard yellow tinge
I'm happy for now until I do a conversation or some Xenons come up at the right price
