Ha ha, cheers Jake.

Nice to get a few bits done.

Not done a lot at the moment, washed it three times and spent an hour or so working on the bonnet paintwork.

Will get sometime soon hopefully.

Hows you, car going all ok?

Si

you had practise on the mk5 black paint when you did my first eddy 3-3.5 years ago!

hows the correction going on your bonnet? are you seeing what works first before hitting the whole car?

It's far to cold at the minute to be detailing isn't it, I will man up and do mine over Christmas ready for the snow!

I'm well mate just plodding along, what about you?

Car is fine, I've managed to break the intake snorkel thing so that needs replacing but not the end of the world.

Sounds a plan buddy  :drinking: Defo have them off you if you change.

Just getting basics done at the moment, front disc/pads next. Have DV to fit.

Then like to get cam belt and maybe chain done.

Hopefully next year the fun parts, Stage 2 and relevant hardware  :happy2:

Picked up some new headlight and sidelight bulbs:

Much better:

Also made a start with the paintwork. Bonnet first, washed, clayed and then few passes with polisher. Used AG, Megauirs and 3M products.

How it started:

Clayed:

Products:

Pleased with the results, early days. Plus no wax or sealants added yet and still like to do some more cutting/polish:

Once get some more time going to continue with this, plus rest of car. Hoping all will come up well, looks like nice paint under the swirls!

Plus few bits tidied up inside, dash had parrot kit fitted so removed that plus cleaned dash up and gave the steering wheel a clean with the magic eraser.

Before:

After:

Before:

After:

Taking kit out:

A lot of it, looks a well made kit, all fitted into headunit etc:

Cleaned sticky pads residue off:

Rear wiper broke:

Ordered a new one up from TPS and fitted that night. Plus ordered new nut and cap too:

Missing the bottle opener:

Another few bits ordered up....

When in the garage other week to give once over we noticed the nearside CV gaiter had a little hole in it. Think when new ball joint was fitted a while ago they must have caught it. So ordered one up.

Off ready for new gaiter:

All back together:

Welcome back mate!

It's funny how we both sold our MK5's at similar times 2014,  bought ep3's as run arounds and now ended up back in MK5's  at similar times! It must be the Crawley air

I got the latest part numbers from rtechperformance website :happy2: I would post a link but signal is sh*t.

I'm using NGK 7's spark plugs in mine with a stage 1 tune but they state there good for stock -> 2+

James a VDS said you've emailed him, if you decide to go with him you won't be disappointment with his work mate.

Can't wait to see this and have a catch up :happy2:

I'll second that, I go to VDS too, wouldn't have anyone else look at my car! James really knows his stuff! :)

Great work , looking nice and fresh, just a question regarding the LED number plate bulbs, have you experienced any bulb out issues?
