Mk 6 MFSW and C/C
« on: January 26, 2010, 08:58:20 pm »
Hi,

I have fitted the mk 6 MFSW and the 1K0-953-549-CH  steeringwheel controlmodule to get the buttons to work, also the C slipring is fitted and the buttons works.
BUT i've lost the communication to the C/C ( cruise control )  :sad1:

My thoughts are, do the 1K0-953-549-CH module support C/C????
Could a possibility be to replace the mk 5 c/c stalk with one from the mk 6 partnr. 1K0 953513 G  (9B9 for black) ??? do the mk 6 fit in the mk 5?

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Ps i have Darren working on this too  :notworthy:

you have to take some of these VCDS lists with a pinch of salt sometimes.

For example, i know for a fact that AK and AL are not compatible with cruise, highline and MFSW. It cost me £280 that list! haha!

Jay, I have the "AK" module, cruise, MFSW and highline, and they all seem to work on mine (except the menu button on the MFSW).

Coding i believe ended up being "0000732", the mk. 6 stalk has a different exterior than the mk. 5

Stu I think Andrew has sort of got it on the nail from what I spoke to him reg this,

basically the 2005 golf came out and the optional mfsw has a different layout on the buttons and the layout didn't make use of the menu button instead it had a source button that went to the stereo I would presume??

Any way Im thinking that cos of this the loom to the instrument cluster is different from the steering controller, and to make use of the menu button I would say we need to look at the wiring from the steering controller...I had a look today at mine and there is loads of spaces available on the connector??
