Golf MK5 - Gear change clunk
« on: February 12, 2017, 05:47:31 pm »
When I change gear (mostly 1st/2nd) quickly, even when stationary, I hear a thud/clunk noise like something is slipping. If I depress the clutch and change gears slowly, it's nice and smooth.

I've had a brand new clutch/flywheel/master/slave cylinder and transmission/dogbone mount.

Any ideas what this could be please? This only happens with the engine on.

Sounds like the clutch isn't releasing fully.  During your quick shifts, is the car up to temp and you're pushing the clutch pedal fully down?

Was it an aftermarket clutch or oem?
