I did mine a couple of weeks ago and for some reason the 36mm I thought it would be wouldn't fit, so I had to nip to halfords and bought a 38mm one and worked fine :happy2:

It's probably been over tightened.  Very common.  You'll need a breaker bar to get enough torque to crack it free.  Just as well you have a new one because over tightened ones often break upon removal!

i just used a big phillips head screw driver and pushed the valve in then re-seated it afterwards....

i think i'd do that again and keep the £150

You could do as I did and get the ECS Tuning filter housing

https://www.ecstuning.com/b-ecs-parts/billet-aluminum-oil-filter-housing-kit-silver-anodized/003602ecs01a01a/

Mmmmmm......nice!
How much is a new standard one?

Got a new standard for £27 on eBay yesterday

You don't actually have to drain the oil filter housing before removing it but it probably helps to prevent oil spillage.

Same as this, just twice the price

Notice that the eBay does not say GENUINE anywhere

Saw the one on Ali but couldn't wait for the shipping time. Hopefully it lasts!!  :surprised:
