Brake Fluid For Fast Road/Occasional Track
« on: March 23, 2017, 12:03:02 pm »
It's time to get the car sorted for when the good weather eventually comes back so the brakes will be getting a full refresh.

I've currently got TTRS front brakes and will be fitting R32 rears. The car is usually driven pretty hard and will hopefully be doing a couple of track days this year.

I have absolutely no idea what brake fluid to use though. I was thinking about using ATE TYP200 (ATEs replacement for Super Blue) but was wondering if there is any better alternatives?

Will have a look at them. Cheers.

How much is needed for a full flush including ABS pump?

CAstrol is well expensive think its like 46quid for 500ml

Motul RBF 660 and ATE 200 are well recommended too

2L for sure.

The Motul RBF660 is a bit better than the RBF600 but I don't think it justifies the price difference if you don't have an hardcore use of the brakes.

I was going to say millers have just released a high performance brake fluid... don't know if it is any good but they have certainly done a good job with their oil hopefully they have done a good job with this too.

Would be good to hear if somebody has any opinions.

Personally I am using just the OE fluid at the moment and I do a few track days a year and put fresh fluid in every time and I don't get any trouble with it really but I am looking to see if I can further improve the brakes with some better fluid so will be interesting to hear what people say
