TTE470 on order, should go well once fitted.
The 6R made 7.8-7.9 for the 100-200kph sprint at 500bhp. The Cupra currently does 8.1-8.2 for the same sprint at 400bhp. The TTE470 has been proven to dip the 100-200 run down to mid 7's....so quicker than my old 6R.
Power should be 450-470bhp with similar torque and good response from the hybrid turbo. Power peak should move up to 6600-6800 rpm and so the DSG will have its rpm limit increased to around 6900-7000rpm.
Hoping for a very low 12 second run on the 1/4 mile, if not something beginning with 11.

Yes, the 290's are sought after over even the 300's as they come with a lot of kit and still get the proper handbrake!

Sorry if you've already addressed  this earlier in the thread....  but how do you find putting the power down before the mods VS after the mods ? Would you say the car copes well or does it struggle in first gear if you try and feed the power in to quickly ? The 4 wheel drive system  is the only reason I'm leaning towards a Golf R MK7 more because most of the time it's damp in England. I would prefer a cupra as you don't see much of them on the roads and I see about 4/5 golf r's everyday

The car copes well with the extra power. The right foot has to be tempered in the wet but overall I prefer it to an R.

Well the TTE470 hybrid turbo went on the car Wednesday and on Thursday it was tuning time.
Keeping torque to a reasonable level for FWD the E-Tuners stage 3 mapping on the TTE470 went very well. 472bhp (478.5ps) 422lbft (572nm). Silky smooth power delivery from the E-Tuners stage 3 DSG map with crackle overrun,7krpm shift points, higher clamping pressure and quicker gearshifts. Initial results show that the TTE470 makes boost around 500rpm later than the OEM turbo ( feels better to drive with a fwd car) but holds power and torque longer. On the OEM turbo, the tuner pegged the Rev limit at 6250 as the torque and power were dropping off significantly by that point. The TTE470 makes power and torque beyond this and so the Rev limit was lifted to 7000rpm. Torque is still over 405lbft (550nm) at 6000rpm! :driver:

Not a bad result. Would you do a full GTX3071R swap again or do you prefer the OEM hybrid turbo route?

Garrett has just released new smaller turbos capable of low rpm spool and great top power. Something like a GTX25 capable of pushing 500 CV.  :scared:

Interesting. The price gap between a Garrett and hybrid turbo setup is closing down now, granted to really take full advantage of a Garrett system you'd need to build the internals up but even so it's interesting to see what is preferred. Low spool times for a 4motion road car is certainly my ideal upgrade...

The TTE470 turbo is even better suited to the Cupra DSG than the OEM turbo. In drive the car came on boost before the next gearchange on the OEM turbo, whilst on the TTE the transition between gears is much smoother.
I'd not go GTX3071R again as the Cupra is FWD and the TTE is just right for this car. :happy2:

Good sounding stuff, I'm thinking a TTE420 for my 6R but the price gap between that and a GTX3071R setup similar to your old setup is close.

TTE420 is the most efficient of the TFSI hybrid turbo's and a good choice. I'd probably go for the GTX though! 😋

Now the car has more power it is time to add a little more control.

Enter the brake upgrade......TTRS calipers, VBT carrier adapters, Clubsport S discs, RS3 vented dust shields, Clubsport S brake ducting, HEL lines and Brembo pads. Gloss black with the rear calipers painted to match. Bonus is a 14+kg weight saving over the OEM brakes and all on the unsprung mass.  :happy2:

Next up, REVO engine and transmission mounts. The stock ones just don't cut it now, so to reduce driveline shunt these Are in to help stiffen up the driveline and reduce wheel hop.

Just need to decide on suspension tweaks now!........ :driver:
