Thinking of changing the front some way to make it just a bit different to any other Gti you see on the road.

What have people done?

@macolmgt - if you end up changing the middle gti grill and lover honeycomb grill I might be interested in buying them off you, mines faded a bit and could do with a refresh!

I'm going to do a bit of a front end refresh at some point myself. Getting the honeycomb grilles sprayed in gloss black will be the first job. Might be a bit OTT for some, but from the pics I've seen it looks good to me.

There's also the option of open fog grilles.

Black VW badge.

Edition 30 badge under the GTI grill badge... if you've got an ed30.

Red GTI grille badge.

Full debadge with bonnet fill.

Xenons always look good and bring the front end up to date.

Ed30 valance, with the option of doing the lower middle splitter bit in black.

Votex valance if you want a bit of exclusivity. Basically the same as the ed30 splitter but a slightly different design. Quite rare.

Different fog grilles like R Line. Not to my taste though.

Laminexed fogs or headlights.

An extra splitter under the ed30/GTI valance. Some on ebay, similar idea to the old LCR lip that ended up on all sorts of Golfs etc.

Different colour grill 'lipstick' (the red strip) or maybe just get it resprayed in red - they fade over time.

Can't think of much more that wouldn't look OTT!

Last one, I forgot: Smooth grill, ie the US spec one. Basically the same as ours but without the number plate plinth.

Obviously you'd fit a number plate in line with the law, but for show purposes it's a nice clean look. Also a variation of that is to fit a 3/4 size number plate. Again, probably not strictly road legal so only for shows Same deal with pressed plates, although I think there are a couple of companies that make road legal ones.

Oh, and that's reminded me... a 'DUB' number plate. Always fancied one, but I don't know if they're a bit of a cliché...?
