Looking good!

I don't know why VW didn't make those power cables a bit neater, my eyes are always drawn to them when I open my bonnet. It looks like a power cable for an aftermarket amps been added

I tucked mine under the battery tray on the front
Makes it somewhat neater

How easy are the headlight washer trims to remove? Mine are a bit tatty!

Ideally you'd want to remove the bumper, but you can get away with masking a bit of cloth underneath and then using very thin pry tools to lift them up and pull them towards you. The headlight washer (the small one) is the harder one as it wants to spring inwards from the spray pump and is attached to 4 prongs on the spray nozzle, the other is very easy just lift it then pull straight.

Edit: Since yours is silver I'd be careful who you get to paint them, as silver is the hardest colour to match.

Fabulous condition mate, love it  :drinking:   I'm so jealous of your front bumper.  Mine looks like it's been sand blasted!

Lol I'd say you should be except both bumpers are slightly a different colour to the rest of the car which needs sorted :sad1: so I'll do the entire front end and get it ppf'd after eventually...

Not much happening, just serviced and cam follower (with new bolts and o-ring) done followed by a customary engine bay clean an arch rust check, and asked Royal Steering Wheels for a quote for my mk6 steering wheel. :smiley:

Just some follow up pictures, cam follower comparison, the engine bay clean and my drivers seat after the use of the colour match seat polish lil bit shiny for my liking so used it sparingly.

Also finally got my rear light brightness back to normal after a lot of fettling with VCDs and the daytime running lights section.

Just some interior updates;

Changed the RNS310 VW radio and Mk6 Golf Dynaudio Speakers replaced with the MK5 Specific Rainbow Speaker Kit (front and rear) and Pioneer SPH-DA120 Carplay Radio to run the speakers better, and then added a Rainbow Beat4 Amp and sub as well.

Also added some NightEye LED's for the Full Beams, which are spectacular.

Just adding some photos of the radio and sub. Amp is attached onto the back of the sub so I can remove it easily if I need to do an airport run.

Then gave the car a good clean and put it away for winter properly, using some of the Gyeon products.

Nice one. Have you seen the dinky little Soundstream amps?  Tiny little things you can put under seats, or tuck up under the parcel shelf supports for a tidy install  :happy2:

I was never a fan of mounting amps to sub boxes back in the day, just in case a bit of spirited cornering yanked the wires out!

Had a quick look there, I've never previously heard of them. They seem to be reviewed quite well against Rockford Fosgate. That being said I think the mk5 is quite spoilt for choice when it comes to amp placement, under the passenger seat, in the boot, in the R32 boot foam raisers. Personally I prefer things that can be removed quickly and kept away from passengers with drinks!  :drinking:  Plus I attached a big bit of Velcro to the boot so it sticks to the boot floor a bit too well if anything!
