Newbie alert. Golf Mk5 GTD owner coming through!
« on: May 16, 2017, 12:03:17 am »
Hello fellow Golf owners,

From the sunny county of Lancashire comes a very looked after VW Golf GT 170 DSG in grey. P.S this car is an unofficial MK5 GTD as I feel it deserves the title.

I have owned the car for over 2 and half years and couldn't ask for any more!

This by far has been the best car I've ever had the pleasure of owning.

I've been browsing this forum on and off now since owning the car but have been too lazy to join (sorry guys  :sad1:)

I've been regularly scouting the for sale forum parts and feel now is the time to join more than ever before as I want to treat my car to a few goodies.  :happy2:

The car is regulary washed and detailed by myself as has been the case with all my previous cars. Please see a few images below of the beast.

We truly are blessed by the views around here. Took these pictures after 5 - 6 hours work on the car detailing.

Let me know what you guys think!

Thanks for looking

My first upgrade after Chinese Android stereo blew the original speakers!

Before:

Was disappointed to find door card had no mid speaker. Deception by VW at its finest!

After:

Alot better, slotted the mids into the door card hence they aren't in picture.

The sound output from the Chinese made Android deck was poor however would pass off looking like the original VW deck.  The best decision I made was to sell that and upgrade to a Pioneer.

The speakers are custom for Golf Mk5 and were a fantastic buy however I realized how good the quality was once I connected my new Pioneer double din deck.

Nice car, if you want to do those speakers any justice add an amp into the mix, a reasonably beefy one at that.

Thanks.

That's a good point. It is something I should be investing in at some stage hopefully.

Quick question, aftermarket rear valance/bumper or an edition 30 OE?

Ps. I also secretly brand my car a mk5 GTD when no one is looking.

Hi mate,

Its genuine OEM edition 30. I wouldn't take the risk with an aftermarket part.
