Some interesting responses here, thanks to all for taking the time to read and comment  :happy2:
I have my pricing rationale worked out now and the car is now on Pistonheads. I'll duplicate the advert on here later today.

Glad you didn't put it up for a cheap price, your car is worth every penny considering all the mods. GLWS

£14k for a mk 5 Golf, albeit an exceptional Pirelli special edition.

Crikey, is this a potential record?  :popcornsoda:

GLWS!

Not that it's required, I thought for interest I'd show my pricing rationale. It's just for interest and to show I didn't pluck a figure from the air  :happy2: Not trying to start pricing ethics debate

Not that it's anyone else's business what you ask for the car. Everyone wants something for nothing, offering £2/3/4K off asking price. Someone recently was offered a 'WATCH' as part ex against an ED30 with sub 60k, no cash offer.

All the best with the sale.

No need to justify your asking price and It's worth what someone's willing to pay for it.

Yes, I hadn't meant it to be interpreted like that. I'll take that post down and save it for negotiations  :happy2:

does the pirelli with the mods drive better than the mk7 ? would be hard to let the Pirelli go if you've done all the hard work on it over the mk7?.... would be more inclined to keep it if you can

I have a Mk7 GTI as well so I can answer this in a few words...
The Mk7 is smooth, slightly soft and quite capable.
The Mk5 has a hard edge and is super responsive.

I'm selling to buy a new Triumph Street Triple RS. Up to getting my bike license there was no car that would have me selling this, there still isn't. The bike is in a different league for thrills and speed though.

I will miss it, a lot. I probably won't repeat this scale of work on a car again.

In parts alone at today's prices there is £9831 in this car. Labour is on top of this. My earlier calculation was incorrect.

Sell the MK7 and keep the MK5  :signLOL:

Very nice bike, and we all say we won't do stuff like modifying again but we all do   ps 14k is a very fair price for the car considering it's rarity and the quality of the parts
