Edition 30 from Switzerland
« on: July 17, 2017, 05:53:01 pm »
Hi everyone

Finally registered to the forum, great place with lots of nice cars. I've been an owner of an Edition 30 since January 2016. I bought it from a guy who used it as his sunday driver, I picked it up with only 32.000 km / 20.000 mls on the clock. Now it is my sunday driver with around 42.000 km / 26.000 miles. It came from the factory with some goodies:
- black magic paint
- DSG gearbox
- Cruise control
- Comfort pack (includes hill hold assist, parking sensors, some nets in the boot and drawers underneath front seats)
- Technique pack (includes RNS 510, bluetooth premium and CD changer)
Xenons and some other stuff was already standard on 08 GTIs for the Swiss market.

The first owner also decided to beef it up a bit with H&R springs, steel flexible brake lines and Abt Stage 1 software (which puts out a measured 278 PS / 347 Nm). The only change I made was swapping the factory premium bluetooth unit to a Skoda interface so I can pair my iPhone.

I really like driving the GTI on some mountain passes around where I live. The car really comes alive on these roads, it is properly quick. I used to have a non-Edition Mk5 GTI before and it's no comparison.

Okay, enough talks, here are some pictures, hope they work for everyone:

Regards from Switzerland
Phil
