If you've got a standard GTI steering wheel shouldn't the coding value for the wheel be (1) not (0).

was jut going to point that out as well. lol  Try changing coding to 0001042

WHen the green light is on you need to be at a constant speed with foot on the accelerator to enable cruise which might be the issue of light comes on

I'm guessing you have the wrong revision cruise control stalk.
You say in you original post that you have added the wire. I assume you mean the wire into the engine bay.
You also say in your original post that you have the correct steering wheel control module and slip ring. Are these original or have you retrofitted a mk6 wheel and the associated parts?
If original, for your year car, your cruise control stalk should have 8 pins. If you've retrofitted to mk6 wheel along with a CH revision steering wheel control module then your cruise control stalk should be a 'G' revision with only 7 pins. Revision 'G' and older revision stalks both have 8 wires but on the revision 'G' the 2 yellow wires join together and go to only 1 pin.
Even if you have bought a revision ’G', check to make sure both yellow wires are joined together and only going to the 1 pin.
When I retrofitted my mk6 wheel the cruise control stalk I bought was supposed to be a revision 'G' but the wires were the same as my old stalk. I was having the same problems as you.
I actually joined the 2 yellow wires in my original stalk (from memory it's the outside pin that you leave vacant) and reinstalled that. Problem solved.
Hope that is your issue too.

@jhook661
A search turned up my own thread on Ross tech. Here's the link:

http://forums.ross-tech.com/showthread.php?7272-Mk6-golf-steering-wheel-into-mk5-issues

In that thread you'll see a photo that shows the two yellow wires modified to be joined together.
My memory is quite what I thought as it shows there are 10 wires not 8 as I stated earlier.
The yellow wires in revision A and B stalks go to pins 5 and 10.
In revision G you have both wires going to pin 10 and pin 5 is left vacant.

So basically you have to pull out the yellow wire in pin 5, (or just cut it near the end) cut off some of the insulation on the yellow wire going to pin 10 and then solder the end onto the exposed section (or twist and tape if you want to easily try it first).

I found some other links with photos but they weren't showing due to photobucket's antics. I realise there are work arounds to show them but I've never used them. Maybe you have.

I suspect you need wires in pins 5 & 10 as you say you are using an F revision steering wheel control module.
Of course this makes things more difficult as you will have to attach a new plug to the correct wire after uncoupling it from the existing plug that it’s attached to.

Has yours got a cable In no.5 ? As you said on your previous post no.5 is vacant?

Not anymore.
It did have, but I removed it to splice into the other yellow wire going into pin 10 when doing my steering wheel conversion.

I’ve even got a spare cruise control stalk with wires going into pins 5 & 10 that you can have for free. It’s brand new. I never used it, as I chose to keep my original one and join the wires.
Only problem is you would have to pay for postage and I’m in New Zealand.

I’m sure you’ll be able to get a plug locally from a wrecker or just the pin from eBay.
