NEED a new turbo
« on: February 09, 2018, 11:28:03 am »
I have a problem. My K04 turbo is on its way out and I need a replacement.

Can anyone recommend a decent place to buy this from? I'm not looking for a re-manufactured or reconditioned one, needs to be new.

Thanks

Only place for a brand new one is quite simply a main dealer or TPS. From anywhere else it will be re-manufactured using old housings

£1000+VAT from VW/TPS for a brand spanker KO4-061.

What symptoms do you have?  Assume it's remapped?  KO4s don't generally die unless they are over sped or starved of oil.   What's the back story?

I might be persuaded to part with my TTE420 that's been in my parts cupboard for a while now.   Just never seem to find the time to throw it on.

If you're going to replace the turbo, may as  :smiley:well fit a better one, right?

Decided to replace it with a brand new original one now. Got a decent quote for £1,200 to do everything and this means that I won't need to adjust my existing mapping or anything as it's a like-for-like replacement. I did consider an upgrade swap, but this comes with a lot more added expense, so couldn't justify it.

Thanks everyone.
