Losing coolant, white smoke and rough tick over

Hi guys,

I've been a member on this forum for quite a while and found many of the topics and discussions very helpful, however I can't find anything addressing all the issues I'm having with my Golf GT Sport 140. I bought the car 5 years ago off my parents and a few months after buying it, the coolant level dropped. I topped it up and have had to do so on a more regular basis (around a 1 litre bottle a week now). Also, when I fire it up there is loads of white smoke pluming from the exhaust, and the car recently dropped massively in power. I have taken it to my local garage and he says I need to take it to a diesel specialist. I have it booked in for tomorrow to get the pressure checked to see if its the head gasket, as that's what most people think it is. The car has done 90k and nearly all motorway miles.

It would be a massive help if someone could give their opinion of what they think it could be, so I know what to expect price wise to get it sorted. I have a REVO remap, and full Miltek Exhaust System, and had the turbo reconditioned 12 months ago. Its been standing for the last 3 months as I have been working away from home. I'm fitting a new battery tonight to get the car to the garage and hopefully get it back to its brilliant self.

Any help is welcome guys, and thank you in advance.
