Coil Packs and Spark Plugs advice
« on: November 12, 2018, 07:48:46 am »
yesterday was on the motorway cruising at 50mph through the average speed cameras.

went to accelerate afterwards and heard juddering.. after calling RAC a coil pack has failed. I installed the R8 coil packs and NGK spark plugs in oct-16 and have done around 18000 miles since.

Coil pack visually and spark plug looks fine (only one failed). Should these not last longer or could just be a coincidence? Anyone had similar problems?

Were the R8 coils genuine, eg with Eldor branding and parts numbers printed on top?

not sure paid around £120 including the NGK plugs... they may have just been red, will have to have a look

would expect the R8 ones if they were genuine to be a lot more so guessing they are probably a normal set just in red
