GIAC map lost after service
« on: July 15, 2010, 07:53:29 pm »
 :sad1:

Just had an interval service on Eddie and car felt like the stock map had been uploaded. Plugged the GIAC map reader/changer thing into the port and nothing works. Just get a flashing red LED in the top right.

Car was left in PUMP mode for the service. Am I screwed?

You will need to contact your Giac dealer and find out where to go from there.

I bought the car already mapped, I can't just upload the software again?

sounds like the dealer did a software update which will wipe your map, like Mr PDT said, contact your GIAC dealer. Not sure how you stand if your not the original map purchaser though

B*stards!   :fighting:

LOL

Found the GIAC dealer, Star Performace in Kirkcaldy. Bloody 3 hour drive away, hopefully a simple upload will sort it, can't see it though.

Star Performance will reflash my ECU with the GIAC map for £60 so that's the next move.

Dunno, gave it a proper thrashing on the way back from VW, searching for the mojo, and the clutch stank  :signLOL:
