Absolutely love the rear lights, did you buy them as a unit or mod them?

You can buy them but you have to mod them as the fog/reverse lights are on the wrong side. They was an OEM option for the european market but we never got the option over here. I got mine on here 2nd hand for £180 and they come up now and again. You can get them from here:
http://www.kunzmann.de/shop/en/tuning-styling-vw-golf-5-v-led-rear-lights-set-candy-red-for-vw-golf-5-v.htm

Here's RedRobin's review with more info on them:

love the colour

Thanks  :happy2:

Cheers for that, definitely fancy doing this!

The Quads are on!!  :pomppomp: :pomppomp:

After 2 years of wanting to do this i have finally got round to doing it. gave the car a quick was today and the exhausts. The zorst still needs a few sessions of wire wool and autosol to get it back to its former glory but its getting there. Now all the outside needs is a professional detail the wheels refurbing, unless I can find some 19" Monza's or BBS do the wheels I want with the right offset. Anyways enough talk here's a pic

The exhaust is no where near as loud as I thought it would be for a non res and I don't really think its much louder than stock. But I'm really happy to finally get it done

Big thanks to Alex at AKS for fitting the zorst as there was a bit of faffing about involved and for changing the DV, cam follower, fuel filter and sub frame spacer bolts. Now the list for here to be where I want it is:

Detail and wheel refurb,, Brake refurb as the paint is very faded and cracked and about to peel on the rear offside, Chrome tip switches and the bushes and engine mounts need doing as the have started splitting.

She's looking very well Nathan!  :congrats:

Does look a lot like Shadow Blue in that picture  :surprised: (especially compared to the pic in your signature)

I have indeed, took my time but got there in the end  :happy2:

Not really, I do alot of motorway and dual carriageway miles so I need it really due to the amount of crap the rear catches in bad weather.

Cheers Greame  :happy2:

I know what you mean and its surprising how much the colour changes depending on the weather. Both the sig and the pic I just posted were taken on the same corner about the same time of day but the quads one was on an overcast day and sig was on a day with brilliant sunshine.

Looks really good  :happy2:

Thanks Weston  :happy2:  It seems ages since I came and collected the zorst, but its finally on now

loving that dude its where i wanna take my car in the future when cash permits haha

Cheers mate  :happy2: Its definitely worth doing and its something different than going the R32 zorst route. The longer you leave it, the harder it may be to source the quad as Milltek haven't had it on their site for some time now and milltek dealers are slowly taking it off their site aswell and I'm not sure if anyone else offer a quad

....The Quad has always been a rarity and not many batches produced due to limited demand. It's also tricky to source a quad exhaust trim.

Bit of an updated, I've not done much over the past few months but this week its been with Alex at AKS having a few bits done.

It needed it yearly service and it was the full one so it had the oil and all filters changed, nology plugs fitted. It was due a brake fluid change so that was done and when I dropped off the car we decided to change the gearbox oil aswell as its never been done (another job VW don't think ever needs doing).

Whilst it was in last time having the exhaust changed on the ramp we noticed that the wishbone bushes had started to perish and split and it was the same with the lower engine mount and dogbone mount, so the wishbones got some superpro bushes and VT for the engine mounts with a full alignment after.

I'm very impressed with the feel of the car after all the work and it feels really good to drive. There is more vibration in the car after having the VT mounts fitted, which I did expect that as its a solid unlike the OEM option, but its only noticeable when pulling away at low revs and on idle but I only really noticed that when I was driving, when Alex picked me up and I was a passenger I couldn't really tell any difference. After having these fitted its got me thinking of other handling mods to do.

Now its all serviced and any maintenance work is up to date I can start planning my next lot of mods for next year, the main one being, although really a mod, is a professional detail and wheel refurb.

Superpro ALK - if that wasn't one of the wishbone bushes you replaced??

H&R springs will make a big difference to the handling - as well as looks (although I'd highly recommend doing your shocks at the same time)

Choices, choices

It wasn't the ALK version just the normal one, more than happy with them tho.

I do keep thinking of lowering it but its just not practical, I keep thinking of this pic when people say about lowering it  :signLOL:

Also any mods I plan for next year can't be too expensive as I've just been reminded by SWMBO that we're meant to be saving for/buying a house lol

Anyways wheres the pics of your new toy?

Haha honestly it doesn't scrape on H&Rs - mine still got over speed bumps with 5 adults in  :happy2:

It just ruins your shocks & bushes

I don't even think I posted any pics up of my old one  :ashamed:

I'll bring it down to JKM next time anyway and you can have a good luck round
