Tsi cam roller conversion was a doddle to fit.  The hardest part was moving the hard fuel line slightly to compensate for the spacer

This is the best option available but I think that if one day I upgrade mine, I'll go for the Stattler Power Developments kit with reinforced cam lobe and cam follower. This is a fair bit more expensive. :smiley:

How much is that option?

Well, from what I remember the cam roller conversion kit is more expensive, at least.

Interesting. Is the cam lobe optional? Or is there any reason this follower wouldn't work well with a healthy OEM cam?

I'm just thinking along the lines of the OEM setup:

OEM follower is softer than the OEM cam, therefore the follower wears, not the cam. Replace follower before it gets too worn.

But this setup (hypothetical) :

New follower is harder than the OEM cam, therefore cam wears, not follower. Issue.

Or am I wrong?!

That's correct, hence the harder cam lobe included in the kit too. :smiley:

Not sure if Stattler would sell just the cam follower, keeping in mind the consequently cam lobe wear.

Thanks for the quick reply. I've had a Loba pump in for a few months now (with new follower) and I'll be checking the follower some day soon.

I'll have to weigh up which option makes more sense based on how fast it's wearing. It's good to have this option, whatever happens :)

You'd be able to get 7-8 Cam followers for the price of the Statller kit.
Unless you have a complete cam failure i can't see the justification

Glad your kit went in OK mike
can't wait for your clutch... ;)

Yeah, my current setup isn't pushed enough to think about upgrading the cam follower. With stronger FPRV than the RS4's, you might consider upgrading it.

True @xjay1337 @Shoduchi

I'm confident that my setup shouldn't be eating followers anyway.

Sorry to spam the thread @Tfsi_Mike

It's all good mate.

I'm at 140 / 150 bar now.  But even still I see it as a longer term mechanical improvement.

I've got some RS3 injectors coming today, so hopefully I can aleviate some pressure with better flow.

Depends when I can fit them and get some time with @R-tech-Nick to alter my mapping though

Dropped her of with Alex at AKS Tuning this morning before a short trip to the south atlantic;

Arrived a bit early...

So went for a sausage butty and a latte.  The car drove itself there as it's been there so many times before (The old AKS unit!)

Box off to remove the barely used Helix paddle...

Oil cooler that's going on;

Long awaited twin plate;

and the box strengthening mods begin;

May have bought myself a new carbon trackday helmet too 0:-)

Shaft beefed up;

Experimenting with cooler mounting....

  Unfortunately the previous owner of the cooler has had some of the mounting points cut off, which is really annoying but Alex has fabricated a custom bracket to get it mounted nicely.

another delivery :)
