« on: September 13, 2011, 05:10:48 pm »
Can these still be bought? if so where from and i guess they probably come at a premium!
Or is it one of those where they rarely come up second hand?

I should have a set of GENUINE monza's with new tyres that a mate of mine wants to sell available VERY VERY soon.

I'll get some pics for you.

I'f I were having them I would for sure have them re-coned by one of the places on here. That would be far better than a set of reps!!

The 19 " monza alloys are Italian reps as far as I am aware.
VW have never made them, have seen a couple of people running them. :happy2:

I'm sure I read somewhere that the 19" reps were made by Ronal and they then took over from BBS to make the OEM 17s and 18s

Well I was informed they were original as it took ages to locate some.

I'll try get some pics tomorrow plus pics of inside.

Think my mate wants £450 for them as they have BRAND NEW tyres just fitted.

Oh, they are on a Beetle, so maybe that's why they are OEM, can we confirm they will fit a golf 5?

Beetle wheel won't fit the Golf (5x100 vs. 5x112 PCD) and are 100% not genuine 19" Monza's

Are you still on about 18" alloys, or does your mate have a set of 19" Monza alloys?

O Dear, Looks like I've been Mis-informed, By the sounds of this I would say that VW never made 19" Monza's then.

I will still take a pic of the insides to see what's embossed, if anything????

And good job I mentioned they were off a beetle, as it looks like they wouldn't have fitted for sure

No I was talking about the same set of 19's with NEW tyres. But looks as though
a) 19's were never made as original VW rims and
b) They won't fit as there off a vw beetle (unless they had adaptors to fit them on the bug??)

You'd be able to get hubcentric adapters if they're 5x100 but you might want to check offset as you might get arch clearance problems if lowered etc
