Front wing rust warranty success!!

Just found out from VW that they will replace both my 05 GTI's front wings free of charge because of the wheel arch rust. Result!!!   :happy2:

I took mine to get inspected last Wednesday , how long between your inspection and getting the OK for the repair? My dealer recokns about two weeks?

I got both mine done last week all for free. It took about 3 weeks after my inspection to hear from the body shop, but you wil have to chase the dealer for a courtesy car.

....Mine took 2 days to get back to me with a go-ahead. Courtesy car was offered without me asking - A new Mk6 Polo.

my mk5 has had some rubbing from the wheel but the arch has started to rust i dont think the wheel caused this, do you think VW will repair it for free?

Specialist cars Aberdeen are doing it

I have to wait until July to get a courtesy car and have to get my insurance to cover me for it

....I'm on very good terms with my VW dealer and their affiliated bodyshop and have been since I bought the car nearly 7 years ago. You get more with honey than you do with vinegar.

another slap in the face to owners like me who were flat refused any warranty work from the dealer and told to consult the dealer when I called vw customer service.

....Have you tried referring them to the VW PDF document which recognises the fault and instructs how VW dealers should fix it?
