I bought these blinds
« on: June 15, 2009, 12:10:01 pm »
Found these part numbers and I was wondering if anyone had any experience of them and how easy they are to fit?

1K5064362  side blinds

1K0064360  rear blinds

EDIT: Spoke to my local parts man and did some further research. See my last post.

The rear blinds are pretty easy some one had a thread about buying and fitting them a few weeks back. Not to sure if i can find the thread, but the blind box sits on the parcel shelf and screws into it, and i think all you had to do was attach the hooks into the plastic at the top of the tailgate.   :happy2:

Cheers TC.  :happy2:
I am guessing they are very similar to the Octavia ones. The side window blinds just slotted into clips that sat under the window rubbers.
The rear roller sat on the parcel shelf held on by 2 screws. There was a modified surround that came pre-drilled where you could attach the hooks. Removing the surround and getting the plastic rear hatch cover back on was quite frustrating on the Octy. Not sure about the Golf though.

Well did some more research on these and it seems they are roller blinds both side and rear.

As I wanted a little more privacy and a bit less sunlight, without tints, I bought a set of clip in blinds from these people. http://www.palmautomotive.co.uk/4trucks/acatalog/VW_Golf_5_styling_Accessories.html

I must admit they have been a pleasure to deal with. They got me the blinds at very short notice (I spoke to them Wednesday) and arranged for Saturday delivery. At all times the communication was excellent and some of you will see the results tomorrow but I am really pleased with them.  :happy2:

Bit of a shameless plug but if the service and product are worth it I do like to pass it on.

Not really RR. Phil but.... took some.

I liked the fact they are easily removable and having driven home this evening they are quite useable at night. Also not being tints you don't need to tell your insurance company.

They turned mine around in 3ish days but I believe normal is 7-10 days. They can also do custom lettering so you could have some MK5GolfGTi blinds if you wish.

....I immediately thought that some of you guys would try a group buy with this forum's logotype. However, my primary loyalty is with BIALI.

I have the VW rear roller blind,
hardest thing was to make sure you drill the small holes in the parcel shelf spaced correctly, you can space the bolts out or in, as they have a small runner under the actual blind. And the hooks just fold under the roof lining easily.

Pics coming right up

 :happy2:

There are NO gaps at all, and simply clip under the plastic surround of the window edges.

Makes the car look tinted at the same time, and im guessing can still use windows with these fitted.
