MKV golf coilovers
« on: December 14, 2012, 01:06:48 AM »
As title says nearer or after Xmas I will be after some coilovers for the edition 30.

So if anyone's thinking of changing or returning to standard or even get done for Xmas and old ones being replaced.

Give us a should, 55m strut / manual transmission.

Cheers Joe.

Don't write off coils from a DSG car, the weightings are barely any different at all and cant be felt.

Oh I thought they was set up for a heavier car and fitted a 50mm strut?

The struts will be 55mm (based on the engine size not the gearbox). They are setup for slighly heavier, but were talking like 20kg or something which is virtually nothing. I run MK5 GTI DSG coilovers on my Manual 2.0 TDI Sport A3 and they are absolutely fine mate.

Just saying  :happy2:

They are compared to H&R which I why I suggested both! Although you can spend 6-700 on top of the range FK's that use Koni Shocks and are very good.

I've got FK Highsports at the moment (around £400) and they're fine, but clearly not gonna be as comfy as a £1k+ set of H&R's

Anyhow, I'll stop littering your thread dude!  :happy2:

if you want to go low ie tuck a 18" wheel on the rear then fk's for the cheap option or H&R's ultra lows for quality option are the ones to go for

i ran koni's they just dont go low enough so i payed the price and bought twice

i ran ah exclusive modified h&r ultra lows 110 version by far the best set up  :happy2:
