"s3dubbin's" S3 detail
« on: February 25, 2013, 08:45:43 pm »
First off i want to apologise for the lack of photos to go along with this detail, I only had a day to do it and was flat out  :rolleye:

Anyway, on with the pics of the car as it turned up

Plenty of brake dust

So on with the car in the usual fashion, wheels up first. They were soaked in Megs wheel brightener and arches/tyres with Megs APC. The wheels were worked with a Daytona wheel brush and Valet pro inch round brushes.

The wheels and arches were then worked and agitated with various brushes.

The car was then foamed with Megs hyper wash, while this was dwelling the seals, badges etc were worked with various brushes.
The foam wash power rinsed off then washed in the usual safe methods, de-tared with AS tardis, re foamed and rinsed then clayed with VP yellow and last touch as a lubricant leaving...

The car was then sheeted to remove as much surface water as possible before moving it into the unit to dry with deep pile towel and get it taped up ready for correction.

Schools concepts s17+ was used on a yellow 3m pad after paint depths were measured. Stepping the pad upto a green 3m at places then refined with Menzerna Final Finish PO85RD using a blue 3m pad. A few 50/50's

And a corrected and refined panel

Once the whole car was complete a 3m grey pad was used along with a megs G220 and CG's extreme top coat, once this was cured and removed the glass was polished, plastics and rubbers dressed with G-technic, wheels were polished and sealed and exhaust polished. Bright work was done with werkstat acrylic prime strong, along with the shuts and arches dressed with Megs all seasons.
The car was then waxed with Victorias concours and given a final wipe down with Zaino Z-8
Now, by this time it was pitch black outisde so only a few reflection shots from in the unit

Steve semed very happy with the results.

Thanks for reading
