i like my VCDS to much  :happy2: , but a small screen to use with it like the PLX one would be nice

That was the same thing I was thinking.

I'm wondering if you can keep VAG-com hooked up all the time and somehow display it on screen, Vag-com is far more powerfull and has even more info available.

Going to get a geek to look into it lol.

If you had a car PC then linking VCDS upto to display and log this kind of info would be superb on a slightly bigger screen, but still PLX one mounted in a vent pod would be a good option to IMO.
