Nice car mate!
Thanks mate!

Can't wait to receive the Loba HPFP, which should arrive next week, and the BCS exhaust system from the GB. Only then I can think of scheduling to get them all fitted.

Mate that list is getting ridiculous, do you have a special room to keep it all in?   . I bet you can't wait to get it all on, this is going to be a well sorted car inside and out. Great work  :congrats:

I wish I had the funds to order the brakes, but I need to have reserves for the eventual extra expenses that may be detected while fitting all the parts. The cambelt and water pump will also be changed for the 1st time then.

At the moment I have most of the parts staked in a corner of my office at home. Already have a lot parts from the GT Sport occupying a corner of my garage. Wife isn't happy... :scared:

I couldn't hold any longer and I had to order a set of Brembo 18Z, mounting bolts, hub centric brake discs rings for the MB GL450 brake discs and HEL front braided brake lines. I'll order next month ATE OEM 350 mm discs, EBC Redstuff pads for 17'' wheels and ATE SL.6 brake oil.

Due to the recently detected issue with the running engine temperature not reaching 90ºC, despite the coolant temperature needle reaching and staying vertical fairly quickly I'll also have to order from VW:
-Thermostat and its seal (06F121111H, 06B121119B)
-Temperature sensor and its seal and clip (06A919501A, N90316802, 32121142)
-Inline temperature regulator (4E0121113) since my Eddie has a DSG and it's MY2008

I'll also have to order:
-PCV gasket (06F103483E) because I'm going to fit the PCV delete kit with an oil catch can
-Inlet manifold gasket (06F129717D) since I'm fitting a Runner Flap Delete kit
-Turbo exhaust gasket (1K0253115AB) since I'm fitting a new TBE from BCS

Am I missing anything or am I going OTT with the sensor and thermostat renewal stuff?

Ordered more parts from VW (because I didn't have enough at home waiting to be fitted yet... :ashamed:). This time they're for the timing belt and water pump change. It'll be the first for my Eddie (with 35.500 miles on the clock).

Timing belt kit: 06F198119A
Water pump: 06F121011X
Water pump seal: 06A121119
Water pump bolt: N90945002
Oil filter: 06D115562
Fuel filter: 1K0201051K
Cabin filter (charcoal): 1K1819653B
Oil drain plug: N90813202

I want to order two 5L cans of Millers Oils NANODRIVE CFS 5w-40 NT Full Synthetic for both my Golfs but I'm still looking for a local dealer in Portugal. If I'm not lucky, I'll have to order from Opieoils.co.uk, for example.

I think I've found a good price on an online store: http://millersoilsireland.ie/cfs-5w40-nt/. No shipping costs. :pomppomp:

So the Irish online store doesn't ship abroad, although it let me put my complete address and accepted everything with no faults. Later received the refund and the explanation. Meh!

Checked better the UK official site and found a local dealer. Contacted them and got a quote 20 € higher for the same product. :sad1: Ah, well! Whatever... :fighting2:

Talked to my mechanic and decided that it was best to try to finish this as much as I can. So ordered the rest of the bits required to fit the Brembo 18Z. He likes good challenges and nice projects.

Finally I received the Loba HPFP! The 1st time it was sent the UPS courier didn't leave a notice in my mailbox. I had a another delivery from Awesome GTI at the same time and he forgot to leave a notice for the 2nd delivery. Ended up being returned to Loba. I complained because the seller didn't give me a tracking number so he had to re-ship at his expenses. I could have picked up the pump if he had given me the tracking number in the 1st place.

Also received the parts to adapt the calipers and discs to my hub.

Well, the mechanic that I want to fit all the parts I already have at home lives 200 miles away from me. His work is top quality and he likes modified cars, so I don't mind the distance. I have good mechanics nearer but as far as I know their labor rates are higher. Might as well have a bit of patience and get all the major parts required before driving there.

At the moment I can use the GT Sport as a daily because my wife still doesn't need it. The DSG thermostat malfunction made me not want to drive much the GTI unless I really have to.

But this weekend if all go as planned I should have all the gadgets fitted by my expert friend in retrofits.

Friday fitted the RNS-510 version P and the cherry red hazard switch. Yesterday went to a friend's house to get all the gadgets fitted. It went well. :pomppomp:

Got rid of the 3M carbon fiber wrap on my center grill and fitted the "Edition 30" tag bellow the "GTI" tag.
Don't mind the bugs's massacre on the car's front end...

Mk6 Golf Climatronic fitted. This version doesn't have auto air recirculation, so I don't get AQS missing error.

OPS front and rear sensors.

Mk6 Golf rear view camera.

Door warning lights with new version of the 3D LED.

Also got other mods done that I don't have pictures: rear footwell lights, updated the Bluetooth module wiring (now voice command works and the sound from Bluetooth Audio streaming is stereo), fitted brushed metal tipped fuel door switch and fitted a new airbag ring (old one was looking too worn).

It's all for now. Stay tuned! Next mods on the list are engine and handling related. :driver:

I still have a big pile of parts at home waiting to get fitted...

I was able to get 39 mpg before entering the highway on today's return trip (final mpg was 30 after a more spirited driving). Engine temp hardly went up more than 77ºC, though. :sad1:
