Now I'm concerned about those 40kgs that the DSG will add.

So future plans are:

 - Carbon sunroof delete
 - Rear wiper delete
 - Maybe change the engine map to MRC

Something like this, but I cannot find it in Europe (Passat, Golf, Leon, Altea use the same sunroof):

@Shoduchi - Man, seems that my KNC gearbox which should be the same age as yours has 25T parking brake. I was about to send the diff back to Darkside Developments, but they said it is better to wait and look. My mechanic opened the gearbox today and said it has 25T. :jumping: :jumping: :jumping:
I'm very happy about this because shipping to and back from Bucharest is expensive and takes at least 10 days.

Unfortunately all my brake pads for next year are 25mm thick:

Need to find out where to machine them to 18mm now.

Oh boy... :surprised:  :slap:

Just checked ETKA following your information mine must be 25T as you said. Yours came out in the Audi A3 and was produced from 11/2007 till 06/2008. Mine was produced from 05/2007 till 12/2008. :sad1:

No problem, I'm so glad that I don't have to change it.  :happy2:
If you have the possibility to check (maybe the order/invoice) will be great, it will help the guys from Darkside Development to build a database of gearbox codes and parking rings. They are already working on it. Then it will be shared with the producers to help others in the future.

After the good news with the LSD that fits the gearbox, I got the bad one, seems that the starter motor is the new version 02E911023S and I need the old one 02E911023J. Ebay here I come.
The DSG gearbox with the LSD is on now and the rear of the car is ready, the new suspension and the bushes installed.  :driver:

Just shipped my 20T park brake ring LSD to MFactory UK today. Then I'll have to pay the shipment of the correct version to me once they check the one I shipped. The great price I got it is now diminishing. :sad1:

Did you replace the gasket I listed in my build thread? I had to order it from AC Parts since VW doesn't sell it separately.

Sorry to hear that man, but are u sure? Did you check inside the gearbox? These must be the only 2 codes from MK5 with 25T.  :sad1: At least you can replace the LSD, unfortunately I cannot replace the starter because more than 14 days have passed.

 Hmm, regarding the gasket, I don't know....the gearbox is already on the car, my mechanic sort it out, I believe he reused the old one. He knows these boxes.

Another problem for me is that we are now blocked waiting for the new starter, the oil pump and the thermostat for it. I did the fatal mistake to buy it without tracking from Demon-Tweeks, because it was advertised to arrive in 4-6 days. I've emailed and called them telling that the only reason I did not pay the extra 10 pounds for a tracked service is because 4-6 days was ok for me but the  answer is:

"Your order was despatched via an economy untracked service on the 12/12/2017.
Due to it being an untracked service there are no tracking details for the parcel and the couriers terms and conditions state that they have up to 30 working days to deliver any post.
If after this date you have still not received the parcel please contact our customer service team."

They should put a remark that delivery could take up to 30 days.
These is also no possibility to get my money back until 30+ working days have passed, so I can order again with a better shipping option.  :scared:

I haven't checked inside the gearbox. I need the car for daily use. But seeing that the equivalent gearbox from the A3 (yours) is already 25T, mine must be as well. Mine was also made till 12/2008 so maybe I should have looked for that date before ordering in the website. MFactory just lists 20T LSD for DSG for mk5, so I guess it was easier to ask for a swap because of that.

Yeah, they are the same generation 99,99% they are the same on the inside also. Unfortunately there is no clear information about when the MK5 got the 25T gearbox anywhere.
Seems that I have to dig deep in my account to buy another thing: adjustable sway bar end links. The ASTs lowered the car so much that the OEM links don't fit anymore.

Hahahaha, good one! No, but for sure is more expensive and with all these surprises that keep coming, the remap will have to wait.

I've read online that you can fit MB Vito 639 (2003+) drop links. They're shorter and very cheap.

Whoops, didn't know that. From what i see in some googled pictures they will fit, but last night at about 2 AM I bought these:

http://www.venommotorsport.com/product/suspension/SU54935/

Hope they'll be up to the job, they have good reviews on ebay, are aluminium made with with uniball "Lightweight aluminium bodies CNC machined from 7075 aluminium. The motorsport specification ball joints are nickel plated steel with high polished stainless steel inserts."

Hope they're not cheap China made.

What a build   Loving the brakes and suspension  :happy2:   I didn't think AP Racing did J hook discs?  Were they Reyland's own discs?  I had AP Racing years ago and the grooved discs lasted 60k miles on the road.  No cracks.

Where did you get the Li-ion battery?

How do you find the Wagner intercooler vs S3?  Did it add any lag?

Great work  :happy2:

Thanks, Pud!  :happy2: I try to keep up with the guys from this time attack series in which I participate.
Hmmm, good one with this Wagner, I thought I'll will see a massive improvement over the S3 ic during the summer.
For sure is better but not by a landslide, I believe the difference is on the track only. But do not worry about any lag with K04, it feels even better than with the S3 ic. This is strange because it has a bigger volume, but I think they did some serious testing and got a superior design.

I got the battery from a motorcycle site: www.germany-motorsports.com
Had only one problem with it, when I had to stay with the hazard lights on for 30 mins it was almost flat dried. It took me more than 24h to charge it with it's special charger (at first the charged declared it dead, but I insisted and ar some point charging begun). Since then absolutely flawless, starts the car perfectly, but I try to avoid staying with consumers and engine turned off for more than 5 mins.

The J hooked disks are Reyland's own. I tought they will fit my AP Racing bells as a cheaper alternative. I have checked offset, pcd, etc. but I forgot to check the mounting holes. My original kit and bells have 11 holes and Reyland had 12. I realized that only when we were trying to install then.  :fighting:
I ordered new custom bells from Reyland and I got to use them for less then 1000km and 20 hard laps before they cracked, even tough I have big brake cooling ducts. So now I've ordered discs from AP.
