Fuel switch
« on: June 08, 2015, 10:50:44 pm »
I am having to replace my drivers side grab handle and all the switches as they are badly scuffed up. Along with the fuel release switch. But the trim it sits in also scuffed. Is this part replaceable?? What's it referred to?

The fuel flap switch pops out of the black plastic trim.

You need part 7L6959833A or search "vw mk5 fuel flap switch" on ebay

The black plastic trim the fuel switch sits in is sadly part of the whole door card,  it is possible to get a cheap dona door card cut it out and fit it to yours
Loads of extra's and retro fits.

I checked ETKA, it does look like a seperate part but there is no part number listed for it and says it is included with door card. Might be worth removing it to see if there is a part number on the rear just in case

It mas show as a seperate item, at a very early stage, in VW assembly it was.
However it gets stuck to the door card and then plastic welded in place.

Not looked at mine yet but I know the above as I have the boot pop modification and want to now fit the interior boot release switch

Here is info.
I have the chrome tipped fuel / boot switch ready to fit.  I need the trim and some courage too.....haha

Hi guys,

It appears my grey interiored, fuel flap release switch housing has started to loose paint... Is that entire switch housing replaceable or is it part of the door card? I looks replaceable

Thanks.
