Probably same reason as me, the taboo of using them scares many people off them. Plus all the other effects they have like arch clearance ect. is another off putting part about them.

I know that a 3/5mm spacer is nothing but still... Just don't like the idea of using them if I don't have to.

Thanks everyone for your input so far, I did some rough measurements with the 18" Charleston's and might be able to fit some kits without spacers, need to take a wheel off when I get a chance and check with fitting templates.

Are Leon Cupra R Brembo's an option for the Mk5?
Brembo GT Juniors?
Also would anyone have measurements for clearance needed for the Porsche calipers?

I have a vagbremtechnic 343 mm brembo kit it uses the lcr 4 pot Brembos I have pirelli wheels which don't give great clearance... admittedly I run 8 mm spacers BUT I could probably get away with no spacers the gap between the wheel and caliper would be very small though. AKS fitted them have a look on his Facebook.  It's a very skinny and very light set up and the performance is phenomenal I went out and did 10 sessions at goodwood and was pestering very expensive machinery then drove home and they have been fine. Got new pads for it now as I have another goodwood track day on 18th July but the old ones have done over 3000 miles and have still got life just wouldn't feel comfortable us in them on track again would prefer new ones. I will be doing a write up on them after the next track day with some photos & video too hopefully :-)

I'm using an 8mm spacer with pescaras and you wouldn't know a difference. Just makes the wheels look like 8" as opposed to 7.5"

I agree,  if you don't have to use them then its best not to. But generally 95% of all BBKs would need spacers, so some compromise is needed.

Spacers are completely fine. All my cars have ran spacers and I've had zero issues whatsoever. My rocco has them on all 4 corners.  :driver:
Otherwise you'll need to look at changing wheels for ones which give more clearance.

Mk2 cupra twin-5 spoke are a good OEM-ish option. But more expensive than spacers ....

I confirm, my AP Racing Formula BBK fits nicely under the Orion OEM Cupra wheels. They are my winter wheels now.
