You're right, I would have expected a red or amber power steering light to be on.

It may be that some basic settings need doing somewhere?

J500 is the power steering control module.

Do you have any faults in module 16 (steering wheel) or 44 (steering assist)?

Re: Vwr cold air intake
Last Poster: shoaybmakda in Performance Modifications on Today at 10:11:41 PM
Yeah was just wondering if it happened and if anyone who was running a VWR intake could shed some thoughts on it as I was considering getting one.

In the end I bought one anyway and loving it - not also getting the drone noise some people were getting around 4K RPM which is great!

Nice, this much be loads of fun. I had a PD130 mk4 mapped to just over 180bhp and that felt nippy enough. The torque must be addictive!

Looking forward to the future plans.  :happy2:

Re: Intermittent Turbo boost?
Last Poster: TAPPY in Mk5 General Area on Today at 09:14:51 PM
I have the same issue. It's fine most of the time but last week it wouldn't boost over 5 psi then 2 mins later it was back up to 11 psi then 2 days later it wouldn't go over 7 psi then same again 11 psi. I'm running a gfb DV+ so doubt that's my problem so wouldn't mind knowing what you find  :popcornsoda:

Hi Bozz,

If you are referring to the digital miles display on the MFD display, then that is the estimated miles to the next fuel stop at your current mpg usage. So the needle might be at half way, but for example, if you are driving everywhere in 1st at 4,000 revs then the fuel aint going to last long...thus the estimated mileage will go down quickly.

Hi everyone, been a member on here for a while since I started looking for my ed30 a few years ago. Used the forum a lot when the car was new to me and found it very helpful, but sadly for me, it is now up for sale, after recently having our first child the 3 door Golf is usable but awkward and I can't help think that's too nice to endure the daily knocks and bumps you would expect a family car to take.
Here are some details, all standard stuff for the ed30 as I'm sure most of you will already know :-)  Build number 2162 VW + specialist service history Factory xenon headlights with headlight washer pack, iPod connection, Factory sat nav Polo short aerial,Auto wipers, Auto lights with courtesy function, Genuine VW GTI mat set, Heated half leather GTI tartan seats with electric lumbar support, Genuine Pescara 18" alloys with veredestein ultrac Sessanta tyres and German style aluminium number plates (not in photos) car is in great condition, with the only modifications being eibach springs (originals included in sale) and a few professionally painted parts in gloss black, these include - wheels, mirror covers, and VW badges, it gives the car a different but subtle look. The car does have a small scuff on the lower front passenger side of the bumper and the alloys could really do with a refurb to make it immaculate.

Just got 12 months MOT, and it's declared as sorn because I'm am now a Volvo owner lol.

If your genuinely interested get in contact as the price is obviously not set in stone, and I'm fully aware that it's really only worth what someone wants to pay within reason.

My dad is moving house and needs the exhaust out his garage. It's a full exhaust off a 2007 mk5 golf gti. Came off my car at 26k miles when the miltek was fitted. In good condition and has been in the garage for a couple of years.

Would be a shame for it to end up at the tip so I'm open to offers.

    Any questions please text me.

This car really is a joy to drive and can be an absolute animal when needed, surprises lots of cars on the road with phenomenal performance, or on the other hand it can be driven sensibly when needed.

Whatever the car has needed over the years it has had, you will see this by the amount of receipts I have.

Slight negatives which I've been honest about....
Small lacquer peel to rear bumper lower section behind wheel, around 3" round, been touched in temporarily to stop it worsening.
Few stone chips to front end, expected on a car of this age.
Slight kerb to front passenger side wheel.
Inside the rear passenger door on the sill small section of paint has flaked.
Few chips on roof area around aerial, been touched up to stop water ingress.

These are all items that i had planned to sort in the future if I kept it, there just is no benefit in me doing it to then sell it. They are all minor and hardly noticeable it's just I'm picky and like to be honest before you see the car!

It's been my pride and joy for the last 4 years and a second car as I have a van for work, always well maintained and looked after  by Will and his team at VRS performance, APR dealer and VW specialist in Northampton.

Any questions please ask, I may have missed something!

No test drives without proof of fully comprehensive insurance, no third party stuff, otherwise I will be doing the driving!
