When I unlock the car, the front and rear interior lights don't come on but the footwell lights do. The selector switch is in the door open position, and they work when I use the switch to turn them on manually.
Any ideas on what might be going on here?
Thanks

Check all the plugs in the CECM are properly plugged in, Had this once after I took a plug out the CECM to add heated seats but didnt click it in properly

Thanks ill give that a try

Blew a fuse? Seems strange that all 6 bulbs between the front and rear of the car all went simultaneously.

They still work when i use the manual switch on the roof its just when i unlock the car/open the door they dont come on

Do you have highline clocks?
If so, go into convenience mode on your settings. You probably turned them off when opening the door and unlocking.

If you mean what i think, as in the screen on the dash i only have the standard one that doesnt have any menus

In that case you'll need VCDS.
Sounds like someone has turned off convenience mode on your lights for auto on/off when door opens/closes.

I thought that might be the case but when i bought the car it was completely stock from a middle-aged woman who I can't really see her with vcds
-
Sounds strange alright but it could have been someone before her or even a relative. Maybe she kept leaving the lights on and flattened the battery in the past so someone could have disabled them for her.. You never know the past history.
That's where I would start anyway.
Google highline vs midline clocks just to double check what you have

True she was the only owner but as you say someone may have done it for her. Yeah definitely midline clock. Now i just need to get VCDS

Try removing the convienence light module at the front and check that the spring on the buttons is not offset I fixed this problem with my mk5 as the spring pushed to the side and needed readjusting hope this helps

When you say module, you mean the bit around the light or the whole thing in the roof as I've got the same thing.
