Hi all,
I'm considering to lower my car with springs and i am tempted to go with Eibach. but what's stopping me to buy the springs now is i want to know what is the perfect lowering for both rear and front without hitting those nasty street bumps? Got a Golf MK5 GTI 2005
The place where i live got quite many those. I'm missing my country cry

30 - 40 mil drop. :happy2:

i think the eibach pro's only lower a gti by about 15-20mm,i've just ordered h&r springs which are 30mm

hi mate they are on ebay for £205 plus postage which is a good price, but i had ordered a set of dampers from dpm performance so they price matched the springs

no problem mate ... nice car... seems good to me :happy2:
can't really see the differences between 20 and 30mm. Though I know that i don't want a car that is slamming the ground.
You think 30mm will be able to cross those stupid street bumps ?
-
Yo Beddie,
After a few days of considering options and so on, and looking at your car's picture i think the 20mm is the perfect size for me. It actually look awesome.
Beddie can you tell me what brand yours it and where you bought them from?

I got mine a while back from 'VWR' aka http://www.racingline.com/, i believe they are actually 'AP' springs though so can be got a good bit cheaper from here: http://www.dpmperformance.co.uk/ap-20mm-lowering-suspension-springsbr-golf-5-gt-14t-si-gti-20t-fsi-gt-20tdi-1204-p-5952.html

The pics of the silver ED30 on the VWR site show another forum members car on the 20mm springs too, Paulk's car if you want his opinion on them too
-
Anyone got similar stance pics at 30 and 40mm drops for comparison purposes?

^ Any pics of it on a true flat bit of road Beddie? It sits particularly well for a 20mm drop.
Cheers :happy2:

sure thanks .. will do that !

I think Paul's and Beddie's drops look bloody good for 20mm. Perhaps in reality it's more than that cause it appears to the naked eye to be a 35mm or so drop? :congrats:
Either way, tip top boys.

I must say, I am very impressed. Some people have advised me that a 20mm drop won't be noticed but that's not the case with yours and Pauls.
Who fitted them fella?

Cheers mate! :happy2:
I got them on the recommendation of the previous owner of Pauls car (BMX) after he had them fitted, well impressed with them so far!
Fitted by 'PSI Tuning' in Stoke, £208 all in for fitting, geo and vat :happy2:
