As the thread title suggests, the LED bulbs I fitted about a month ago keep on flickering whilst I'm driving. Been doing it since I fitted them tbh, I just hoped it would stop happening :signLOL:
Any ideas on what the cause is / ways to fix it?
It's driving me scatty!
-
Anyone?
-
are they the footwell ones?
-
Nah the front reading lights in the main, rear reading lights tend to flicker a bit as well.
Hard to tell if as often as the fronts as I'm driving when it happens lol
-
Get better led bulbs, mine did that then started constantly blowing the fuse. Changed with no problems.
-
Hmm may ha to consider doing that then.
I bought from the same guy everyone else on this forum has as well
-
I find each led unit from different suppliers can vary in length between like 5-10mm which obviously effects the fitment and connection of each one, you may have just been unlucky and got some poor fitting ones
-
It's just the loose connection. Take the bulb out and bend the filament connection on the holder in a bit more and fit the light again. Repeat this process until the light fits snugly.
Buying those Chinese bulbs unfortunately means that whilst driving over rough enough roads they will flicker marginally!

I do find that when I go over bumps in the road, they tend to flicker more. Even does it when I have the music loud in the car, guess from the bass vibrations.

Next question... Why do you have your internal lights on whilst driving? :signLOL:

I don't ... That's what I'm saying haha.
They're set to the only come on if door is open option
But when I'm driving the reading lights keep flickering.
Very annoying. I keep thinking cops are behind me :signLOL:
-
I'm really sorry but had to laugh at the op on this as he sounds so funny :signLOL: :drinking:
Check you've not damaged the switch.

Ohhhhh that makes sense! My last gf used to open the visor and turn the light on every single time she got in the car and all I could see in the corner of my eye was a flickering light... The solution was not to fix the light, just put her in the back :jumpmove:
If it's happening while the button is switched to door only it sounds like a faulty switch. Try bending the filaments first but I would preferably VCDS scan first and last case change the switch!

I'll give it a crack thanks :)
-
ive had mine in from Bold Sport and had no issues since fitting them nearly a year ago
I had ebay ones before and they flickered like mad. was like a disco in the car.
-
Mine are from china and there been on for the best part of me using the car and had no issues with them
I am having issues with the stupid no plates led's though :stupid:
I don't want to buy what most others have bought as a I can see is a pair of headlights at the rear of the car :signLOL: and it looks kind of silly as my brothers porsche has these overly bright lights too. :fighting2:

Are they canbus compatible ones? This may be one of the causes this is happening if they aren't canbus compatible
