Great to hear from you Martin,

Sorry to hear of the difficulties in your Mk7R ownership - that paint is truly shocking! Glad to hear it has been sorted to your standard in the end. There is an R in Lapiz blue just round the corner from me. Looks nicely understated under clouds, and then wh

Re: Stage One fitted!
Last Poster: shaunK in Revo Zone on Yesterday at 07:56:20 PM
Had the stage 1 carried out a TSR today and the car pulls really well now, although they did say they should be able to get a little more boost by adjusting the actuator and giving it a couple runs on the rollers which I'll get done at some point. They also mentions the VVT valve was a little slow to operate but said its an easy clean, anyone every done this?

Re: Cream Leather Interior - New Parts?
Last Poster: willni in Mk5 General Area on Yesterday at 07:43:10 PM
Good stuff. Do parts like interior trim have to be bought via dealers or is there an online way of getting hold of stuff?

Think I saw someone get them from the dealer for £15 either side, you can probably search the internet but could end up being more expensive somet

Best just getting a good brand in a sale, I got a set of 30 Bosch wood, steel and masonry for £25 in B&Q one day now if only I could find them...

VW T5 Camper Van + Air
Last Poster: DaveyBoyWonder in Other VAG on Yesterday at 06:59:20 PM
Hi all. Welcome to my main project vehicle, my VW T5 camper.

I won't go into the full in-depth build so far but I bought it at the end of 2014 as an ex-demo vehicle from Alpine Campers, a conversion company in Bingley. Ticked all the boxes (at the time) - top spec parts, loved the look (at the time!) and was on a decent low mileage base van. Anyway, this is what it did l

Re: mk6 golf boot wont close
Last Poster: DaveyBoyWonder in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on Yesterday at 06:44:54 PM
Guess you got this sorted but I had the same. If you poked a screwdriver into the latch (as if the latch thought it was closing around the pin at the bottom of the boot) did it lock around it? If not then its new latch - I picked one up from a breakers like new for £15 and took about 15 minutes to fit.

Rear Wiper & Boot Handle Intermittent Problems
Last Poster: DaveyBoyWonder in How to Guides / Troubleshooting on Yesterday at 06:43:17 PM
Hi all.
A few weeks ago I replace the boot latch mechanism as the old one died (wouldn't lock). A week or two after that the wiper started doing weird things and has now stopped working altogether which has coincided with the boot working intermittently.

The boot seems to be ok if you get in and use the emergency release. I can then close the boot/lock the car/unloc

Replaced my high pressure sensor last night.. Must say - even with the right tools it's a crappy job to do when your sensor is totally grown into your car :D

Managed to use my temper and then rip the crap out if it and got it of.. Did brake the connector housing, so that will have to be replaced when I'm swapping over my front hehe... Other than that I just placed what

Please see the current VOSA MOT guidelines for these:

"Vehicles equipped with High Intensity Discharge(HID) or LED dipped beam headlamps may be fitted with headlamp washers and a suspension or headlamp self levelling system. Where such systems are fitted, they must work; however, it is accepted that it may not be possible to readily determine the functioning of self leve

I don't understand the idea that because you have a gti you have to be thrashing every time you get behind the wheel.

@VWGTI5 I do similar miles to you and put in between £50-60 per week.

It's for sale by a private seller? Surely he will know lol.

Different if the car is listed by a dealer.

Grey Golf GTI - Great spec and condition!
    £5500.00
    Location: West Midlands
    Collection Only

    Hi,

For sale is my Golf GTI, a lovely clean example that hasn't been modified to within an inch of its life, a blank canvas for a new project or just a sturdy daily.

The car has 90K now and FSH, the last service was at 88k so it has plenty of time before the next service is due.

The car has the follow extras:
    DSG Gearbox,
    Heated leather GTI seats,
    Xenons,
    Genuine VAG/BBS Pescara wheels,
    Multi function steering wheel,
    Highline clocks,
    Auxiliary input,
    Heated mirrors.

The cam follower and diverter valve were replaced during the 88k service too as they are common points of failure and can cost a lot of money to fix so rest assured they are done with proof too!

    Serviced in Nov-2007, Jun-2009, Oct-2010, Oct-2011, Nov-2012, Sep-2013, Sep-2015, Mar-2017.

Cambelt was done at 60k and DSG was done at 44K and 74K.

The car is HPI clear and ready to go to a happy new owner!

Selling my Jetta due to having to get something under 5 years old for a new job.

    Specs as below:

    2006 2.0 TFSI (BWA engine)
    12 months MOT (no advisories)
106k miles (will rise as still in use)
Brand new clutch and DMF (fitted last month)
    MFSW with cruise control
    VW main dealer services @ 14,416 - 25,597 - 29,958 - 42,667 - 52,697 - 64,324
    VW specialist services @ 75,036 - 83,166 - 93,993 - 104,672
New spark plugs and fuel filter 80,000
    R-Tech Stage 2 map (263bhp with printout)
    Brand new Superpro dog-bone insert
Sports-cat downpipe and Milltek cat-back exhaust
    Neuspeed intake
    GTI front and rear seats
GTI smooth front end with magnetic plate
    Front splitter
    Recent tyres all round
    Recent front disks and pads
Chassis notch (passed 3 MOTs with it)
0awg power cable to boot (may or may not be removed before sale)

    Bad points:
Couple of ripples and scrapes on the arches from air ride.
Rear bumper has recently been resprayed, but the bodyshop have done a poor job with the colour match. Aiming to get this rectified before sale.
Power delivery from 2-3k RPM has been a bit funny since the map (the car had an undiagnosed throttle-body out of calibration at the time). Pulls hard from 3k up to the redline with no issues. I think it just needs R-Tech to tweak it, but I haven't managed to make the 3+hr trip to them to sort it.

Contact me on 07787 521626 (text/Whatsapp preferable before calling). Car is located in Bristol.
