Post by: mrxbox360 on March 07, 2018, 08:35:30 pm
Hi all in my 2008 mk5 i have the factory cd changer fitted & im looking to change it to the factory Mdi armrest type wich i already have purchased https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VOLKSWAGEN-GOLF-SIROCCO-PASSAT-B7-MMI-UNIT-5N0035341F-5N0-035-341-F/253415167563?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649 the problem i cant seem to find an answer to is ref the connecting loom as i have later spec factory phone kit fitted under my drivers seat & connected to my Rns510 dab using the loom already https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5N0035728B-5N0035729A-Bluetooth-MDI-Kabelset-Combo-ULTRA-Plug-Play-SDS-A2DP/171229839753?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 / My question is do i still need to buy https://www.kufatec.de/shop/en/volkswagen/golf/golf-5-golf-5-plus-1k/vw-media-in-mdi-interface-harness & will the two harness be ok fitted together, i know the mdi will need coding wich is fine as i have full vcds.

Sorry if this has been asked before but i read loads on the net on different forums & i cant seem to find a s simple answer.

Hi. Unless you can buy the plug on its own, and wire into the other loom. I think you will have to plug all the looms in not sure if you will squeeze it all behind the stereo though.but I’m sure you won’t be the only one this must have been covered before.

if your combo loom has plug for mdi you don't need any other looms.
