Mmmm. Now you're talking. Remember Azev A? I doubt they'd be light enough to make this feasible, but they're one of my favourites.
the were beautiful wheels AJP my favourites and still like them if I could get them for the gti I would have lol

Just a quick 2 questions for the Scottish among us about it,

Just how much better is a Glass bottle vs a Plastic or Can?
How good is it for hangovers (started hearing it's a hangover cure recently)

Thank you for the explanation AJP. Much appreaciated  :notworthy:

I do want to tune my car too but my intake is playing up. I think I will save some money to do a carbon clean up and at the same time the RFD so I can eliminate the flaps and all problems associated with this as I think the flaps or the motor that control them is causing the problem with my intake. I guess

May want the brakes BUT Price dependant so this thread is a tad pointless at mo.
Apologies for causing frustration to anyone, it wasn't my intention at all. What I was trying to achieve was to gauge interest and hopefully collect a few names in order of enquiry whom I could contact o

Hi guys,

I've been reading various threads about the Pioneer SPH-DA120. And I'm confused about what I would need to make it work in the GTi.

I already have the HU from my previous Civic Type R, so I would really appreciate links to facias, adaptors etc.

The car is a 2008 GTi with the RCD300 HU, parrot Bluetooth, it has a highline MFD and a MFSW whi

…an update

After receiving the gloss version of the grille I ordered a second set of bits that looked more OEM with a satin finish on the badge surround and honeycomb grille.

Bought these:

The EP3 is easier to hustle along quickly as it has a vastly superior gearshift, much shorter gearing and stiffer suspension.  They are quick cars

The GTI is the much nicer daily car though  :happy2:

I'm sticking the Tyrol set onto mine this weekend, so I'll report back.   The precision and quality of the Tyrol stuff, along with ARP bolts is what sets it apart from the cheaper solutions.  I'm not saying the

Fitted a new VibratorTechniques dogbone mount and the TyrolSport Deadset today.

I bought a spare subframe from ebay and fitted the mount in advance because the old one didn't look like it would ever come out again, and I was right!  Glad I bought a spare SF now.  Would have wasted half the day getting the old one out.

It's a really old one (previous owner fi

yeah i was thinking maybe it's more than one issue piled on top of another. TBF i rarely do motorway driving so this may have been an issue for a while that i hadn't noticed. I really don't think it's disks. it doesn't come up on braking its speed related and i can't drive through it if that makes sense. the wobble starts at lower speeds and gets worse the faster i go.

1k0 will fix the battery drain issue, just wont connect with your stereo. It means no mfsw control for the stereo, no stereo info on the dash. It has nothing with mpg etc. cheers

My last vrs had 157k when I got it and was a better driving car than my current one which had 95k. The old one obviously had some cash spent on it before I got it.

Brand new Superpro dog-bone insert
Sports-cat downpipe and Milltek cat-back exhaust
Neuspeed intake
GTI front and rear seats
GTI smooth front end with magnetic plate
Front splitter
Recent tyres all round
Recent front disks and pads
Chassis notch (passed 3 MOTs with it)
0awg power cable to boot (may or may not be removed before sale)

Bad points:
Couple of ripples and scrapes on the arches from air ride.
Rear bumper has recently been resprayed, but the bodyshop have done a poor job with the colour match. Aiming to get this rectified before sale.
Power delivery from 2-3k RPM has been a bit funny since the map (the car had an undiagnosed throttle-body out of calibration at the time). Pulls hard from 3k up to the redline with no issues. I think it just needs R-Tech to tweak it, but I haven't managed to make the 3+hr trip to them to sort it.

            Hi guys,

I purchased these coilpacks from AKS about 3 months ago when I was having a misfire issue (Documented on my build thread) - it turned out to be a faulty injector instead. But unfortunately my car has been written off so I've removed these and have put them up for sale.

EDIT - Reason for sale is that the car is hardly ever used anymore and the money would be a big help for work on our house.

£6995 or make me an offer.

So I've finally decided to sell my cherished GTi... I've owned the car for a little over 7 years now and its wanted for nothing. The bulk of the modifications listed were made by the previous owner, so I've had the luxury of enjoying it over the years.

It'll be a sad day when it goes as its the longest I've ever owned a car. There is just something about the Mk5 which I just really enjoy, so I'm hoping the next owner can enjoy it as much as I do and is equally well cared for.

I dont know if this price is too high or about right... there looks to be a few poorly spec'd cars around at the moment on Autotrader for similar money, so let me know what you think or make an offer.

              Bad points

Being completely honest, all cars have there niggles and this one is now 10yrs old so it shouldnt come as a surprise there are a couple...

Slight scrape to rear bumper on the drivers side corner where a kind soul demonstrated their lack of driving skills - its only minor and barely noticable but I know its there... I actually tried to get some photos of this but I couldnt get it to show up in the light there was at the time.

Passenger door lock intermittently not unlocking on the central locking so need to unlock from inside the car - I've priced the part to around £150 plus fitting it, I may get this sorted before it goes though. This actually only just started to occur but from looking in to how to fix it, it seems to be a common "feature".

Three of the four Monza wheels are suffering with "white worm". I've had the cost of a refurb for all four priced at £350 by Pristine Wheels for the same original finish with diamond cut so this is taken in to account with the price.
