How to Guides / Troubleshooting / running rich and lpfp low pressure at high rpm
« Last post by jolozj on April 14, 2024, 09:52:22 pm »
Hello, as noted in the title, I am facing two issues. My car has been tuned on two different maps (stage 3) by two different tuning specialists. The same problem persists across every tune. At high RPMs, the pressure in the LPFP (low-pressure fuel pump) significantly drops. I have installed both a new LPFP and a new module (both by Pierburg), yet the issue remains unchanged. I then replaced the module with an older OEM one, which initially performed bette but at high RPM is it worse. On the dyno, the car outputs 340 horsepower. My second issue is that the exhaust is very black, occasionally emitting black smoke along with a strong gasoline odor. The exhaust tip is also blackened and shows signs of burning. I’ve installed a new MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor and a new lambda sensor, but the problems persist. Below are the specifications. The engine has been upgraded with forged internals.

- Forged pistons and connecting rods kit ([BAR-TEK Ultimate 2.0 L TFSI EA113](https://www.bar-tek.com/forged-piston-conrod-set-ultimate-2-0-l-tfsi-ea113))
- Intake camshaft (Golf 6R)
- S3 injectors
- BorgWarner K04 turbocharger
- 3" complete exhaust system without a catalytic converter
- NGK BKR8EIX spark plugs
- NGK R8 ignition coils
- REVO intercooler
- K&N air intake system
- Oil catch can
- Pierburg low-pressure fuel pump and module (stock)
- Hitachi Dynaparts upgraded high-pressure fuel pump (HPFP)
- Audi RS4 fuel return valve - 079 130 757
- VAG 200 Bar fuel pressure sensor - 06J906054B
- Turbosmart BOV Kompact EM BOV R1 blow-off valve

How to Guides / Troubleshooting / Re: HOW TO: Replace Faulty Door Lock Module
« Last post by Wilywalt on April 14, 2024, 12:41:26 pm »
Just want to say a big thank you for the guide, helped immensely with changing the lock on a VWGolf Plus 2006, though a little longer as I had to use an angle grinder on the lock bolts having sucked in a large breath! Lost the small rubber that held the handle chassis but easily replaced.

Note that the issue was the "red" lever was not fully engaging when using the remote to lock drivers door!  :P :P :P

Again many thanks for the guide.

Recently completed the build with a used k04 turbo apparently from a 66k S3.  Was running fine for 2 months before the build was complete. A month down the line and the thrustmaster bearing had smashed to bits. Got it rebuilt with an uprated bearing and touchwood its been great.  Am I right in thinking this was down to a poor custom tune? The mapping company suggested a brandnew turbo so got a 2nd opinion and went for the rebuild.  I might be wrong but it seemed the mapping company was looking for more work.   This was an expensive build and no partial refund was given.  I understand it was a used turbo but I did stress it was wrking completly fine before the custom tune.

Mk5 General Area / GTI grill badge

I managed to break mine trying to transfer it to the new grill, but I can't seem to find an exact match without going to VW - and they want best part of £50! Anyone know where to get a good one on the aftermarket?

Fitting part 9 would have to be perfect or the skirts wouldnt sit correcty. OCD would kick in  :scared: :scared:

Yeah exactly, that's why I was hoping there is a version of the sills pre drilled or at least marked for the screws, it would be near impossible to get it right without.
