Nice one mate. Finally made a start on the rear end strip down, no surprises to what I found. I wasn'#039t going to drop the rear subframe this time but looking at it, it makes sense to do it all in one go! [img width

Hi,
The air conditioning on my Mk5 Golf GTI hasn’t worked for a few years. I’ve previously had it regassed and tried the usual checks, but it still doesn’t get cold.
I inspected the compressor with the engine running and noticed that the outer pulley section spins with the auxiliary belt, but the centre hub around the compressor shaft remains stationary.

Collinite 845 for me on black, it's cheap and lasts stupidly long. Fusso Coat's also popular if you want an easier on/off. Honestly on black the prep (clay + polish first) makes way more difference than which wax you pick — a mediocre wax on a properly polished panel beats a premium wax on a panel with swirls still in it.

I tried so many ways to restore headlights. Using DIY methods such as WD-40, lemon + soda, toothpaste, these usually last couple days max weeks. Then I tried the Turtle Wax headlight restoration kit, which lasted around 1 year, and then I could see headlight to become yellowing. I did some research and found a headlamp restoration s

Hi guys,
I'#039ve haven'#039t had a proper play yet since getting my car back from the garage but I'#039m sure a setting or something has been changed/reset...
I'#039m used to my rear wiper automatically kicking in when I put the car in reverse (and it'#039s raining) or when I'#039ve manually triggered the front wipers, like I did this AM because there was dew on the windscreen

Also its simple enough to detach from the top but has anyone got any experience removing the other end, i cannot get my hands in there. It’s the taped up one. [img

With the oil consumption problem hopefully fixed, I continued with the maintenance items needed for my next track day (July 24th hopefully): - new clutch - new engine mounts - new gearbox oil
All went smooth. The OE clutch plate and pressure plate were worn but not excessively (this is after ~150k km). But the pressure release bearing was a bit shot.
