Sorry for the down time.

The forum has been moved to my server .

You should notice that its running a little faster and the search is working. Please point out any bugs.

When I get a bit of time I think an upgrade is in order with image uploads.

Bought a clay bar for the old diesel workhorse. The roof looks as rough as a tramps foot.

I had a look at the iat sensor just, took it off and sprayed it with MAF cleaner. Noticed when I took it out, it had a bit of oil on the plastic. I assume this isn't normal? Figured cleaning it couldn't hurt. Disconnected the battery and took the sensor out with the plug attached. If it does get worse when colder I've got no hope of getting those vw plugs off lol nightmare don't wa

Re: Upgrade on standard Golf mk5 Stereo, need a bit of help
Last Poster: probedb in Sat Nav and Car Audio on Yesterday at 12:53:12 PM
Do you really need to upgrade the speakers? You say better experience but what do you want from it. For me the stock speakers are OK in my GTI, I'm just updating the head unit to an RNS 315 so I can have DAB, bluetooth etc. Try updating the head unit first and go from there :)

Not looked into the speaker side of mk5s yet but my previous car sounded worse after replacing

Many thanks, I thought so and have a newer CANBUS, its just proving a pain in the backside to get the old module out for lack of access under the dash and above the pedals. May end up just asking the garage to do it and then I can do everything else.

Ah I see. Why would the last 8 fall off the original code?

Evening guys.
Has anyone tried replacing their headlamp lenses on the mk5 xenon lamps before?
As most of these now are getting old and starting to heat crack on the insides, there seems to be replacement

Fitted a new pump yesterday, again same issue replicated when in 6th gear going from 100km/h to 160km/h  this evening, fairly hard to replicate it when in the correct gear, it doesn't look like the HPFP right?

Unfortunately you can't really buy 98/99 where I'm from haha.

Hi, did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have a mk5 2.0 tfsi with the same problems. The car has no fault codes, and has had various parts changed; PVC, spark plugs, temp sensor and fuel filter changed, still no joy.
If the car has been left for a few hours it hesitates when pulling off like it's getting no fuel. This is very brief and after runs perfectly. I have been to

Just to follow up on the above, this is the one I bought (though it was cheaper lat year when I got it) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/Video-2-PC-Capture-Windows-Camcorder-transfer/dp/B0049BE3TA/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=VHS+TO+MP4&qid=1568707664&sr=8-5

I also bought a old VHS off a local ad and tested it so I knew it would work fine with my tapes, then it was just a case of conne

Just XBL and PSN? What about those that have Nintendo consoles or Steam?

I use imgbb.com, it doesn't give you tons of space, but if you only share a picture now and again or want somewhere to host your signature or profile pic it's great, and the website isn't rammed full of ads and slow like Photobucket.

Re: Who still uses main dealers to service and maintain their little pride and joy??

Considering their prices and how much less a local garage (with a more pleasant and easy to deal with mechanic) is, I'd use local garages every time.

A genuine MAF is over a £100 from VW so worth getting it checked I got a brand new one as mine was   damaged. after I bought it I had to get an air box in  it was what looked like a new genuine MAF and a new air filter. The air box had a split in it I contacted the seller he refunded me in full and told me to keep it I fixed it so got a bargain

A little update - thanks for input above.

I stripped the car down over the weekend and cleaned the inlet ports and the flaps on the inlet manifold. Was a mission - only because I really struggled to get the correct combination of ratchets and bits together in order to remove the four throttle body bolts. Took over an hour to remove and another hour to reinstall those fo
