In the meanwhile, would I have to bin the standard calipers or would the above all fit and be a fair setup for 2505hp on a very good day?

Not sure what remap you have........................... 2505hp!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rolleye: :driver:
The pads Nath is selling will fit straight on, no caliper changes etc.
Give them a go, He thought they were very good on his Ed with 320Hp.
:santa:

  Ooopps.
If they suited Nath with 320ps on a car of a similar weight, then that's all the assurance I need really.
--- Quote from: john_o on December 21, 2009, 08:18:08 am ---depends alot on your planned usage of the car and your driving 'style'
you going to be doing any track days etc?
the good folks on here, recomended some pagid blue pads to fit the std 312mm discs, which by all accounts are great if you plan to go no further. or Nathans set on here that are also good value :happy2:
But if you then decided they werent sufficient then its probably not a good investment.
going to R32 fronts (+ optional rears) , then up to proper big brake kits are steps up from that ....
I went for R32 fronts from DaveB on here, which performed faultlessly at Oulton Park.
the solution depends on your requirements :happy2:

I won't be track day'ing John so I don't need anything that's built for race performance. Purely Commuting and S+DP really with the few engine mods mentioned above.
Are the discs necessary too or not really given my driving style is generally moderate, i.e. will the VWR pads suffice on their own?
I don't know if Nath had standard calipers + discs?...
I don't think I can justify R32 fronts, cost and hassle for what I need.
Cheers John
john_o:
in which case Nathans pads are just :happy2:
(yes he is/was running std discs/calipers the 312mm OE GTI setup AFAIK)
tbh given the way youve described it, the OE setup should suffice ?
Have you had fade issues on the road ? or are your current setup worn and need replacing?
Greeners:
As already said Pete I ran these pads with standard discs and they performed really well in all circumstances.
(PS they were reigning in closer to 340bhp! )

Perfect Nath + fellas, they sound like all I need.
Not sure I'll be able to purchase anytime soon unfortunately by they're added to the growing to-do list :congrats: Thanks.

Nath,
Did you change the fluid at all or run OEM stuff?
Ty
