Steel Grey GT TDI - Repairing scratches 1st attempt...
ashbignall:
I'm hoping to take it to R-Tech for a remap in October or November; they gave me a quote for 290. Can't really afford it till then and also want a couple more months with the engine to get a feel for it in case anything else goes wrong.
It's got 103k on the clock and the cam belt shouldn't need changing till 150k miles which I'm pleased with.
I've thought about a new air filter/induction kit for noise purposes but other than that I'm open to ideas.
I'm a definite newbie to modding cars but looking forward to making a few more changes to this :drinking:
Andy:
The induction kit is a waste of money, the oem one is just fine

Like I say, if anyone does have some recommendations then I'm happy to hear them :happy2:

Welcome to the forum!
Well spec'd and looks well maintained.
For your engine a decat and a remap should be enough. If you want more you'll have to start spending a lot more.
Consider upgrading the suspension and brakes, then you can really enjoy your car on the twists. :driver:
Andy:
As above, get the car lowered which will transform the cars handling and will look better, also brakes of which the r32 up grade is popular then get a remap.Decat is the best way and better exhaust but a decat will now fail a mot unless you have a friendly mot tester.Have a look through my build thread for ideas
