I highly recommend TTRS calipers with AKS/ DaveB adaptors and TTS 340mm discs along with some decent pads, gives good pedal feel (some may say a touch soft but I like it as you don't jerk in traffic). They stop like you crashed and the consumables are cheap. MTEC discs £140 decent pads £120 - £170, obviously there are more expensive and better options but still plenty of good stuff in that range.

Thanks for help mate I'm abit unsure wether to save the extra pennies to buy a 4 pot kit like the ttrs over the r32/s3 setup
Havnt got an endless pit of money and I want to do some suspension upgrades and a few other bits too!

It depends on your driving and whether you're going to track it, stage 2 eddy's aren't slow and need some stopping, however of your not too aggressive as a driver and don't plan on doing regular tracking then the R32 set up with good pads/ discs/ braided hoses and fresh fluid will get the job done. Its really those 105mph+ stops where the 4pots come into their own.

18Z Brembo are massive 6 pots
TTRS 4 pots both can use 340 discs
whats the better option ?
and what disks EBC and yellow pads or better options pls advice

I'm not sure between the 18z 6pots and TTRS 4pots, its not just about how many pistons but also the size and how it matches your car, the TTRS calipers are basically perfect from what I gather and match up very well with the MK5 platform.

Pads wise I havent tried EBC yet although the Yellow stuff pads will replace my Brembo Sport pads very soon.

Discs I really like MTEC as they're well priced and havnt had any issues with the 3 sets I've used from them.

Also I think the 18z calipers use a 350mm ML disc not 340mm

The 18Z are a bit oversized for the OEM GTI master cylinder. Going down that route really needs to be accompanied by the TTRS master cylinder upgreade.

i think mk6 Gti golf have better master cylinder ?
so what would happen with mk5 GTI type ?
also AKS/ DaveB TTRS 340 DISK adaptors is about £200-250

dansmith180:
Adaptors are £250 and TTs discs are £150 odd, so about the same price as TTRS discs which arent very good but a 3rd of the price to replace and you can sell the adaptors at the end
