Can't be 100% by guessing over the internet. Easiest way to check is remove the downpipe and check for fresh oil, or re-fit the cat and see if it goes away

This is becoming a well known, unexplained problem and 100% isnt the turbo. Id put it down to a high amount of vacuum in the inlet after a long over-run period (off throttle) and then opening the throttle opens the butterfly and the mass of vacuum sucks some oil through the breathers/ PCV.

If it starts after removing the cat then it could well be the turbo passing oil. Doesn't denote turbo/bearing failure but an imbalance between backpressure and internal oil pressure within the turbo

Gaz:
Its only when throttle is opened though, so that means its coming from the inlet side and nothing to do with exhaust back pressure..?

Touching the throttle changes both back pressure and internal oil pressure, as well as reducing vacuum in the inlet. Kinda hard to do one without the other. Easy way to rule it out is to check the downpipe or refit the cat
