Dsg speedo not working even after sensor replaced in gearbox help please?.

Hello all,

Not mine but a friends DSG speedo has stopped working so he paid £450 to have this replaced and it's still not working :scared:

I've told his to do a needle sweep which he has had done and they all seem to sweep fine.

Any helpful advise is better than no advise.

Could well be but garage didn't find anything when checking for faults.

I'll relay that back to him and see if he can get a reputable vag garage to check it out as I know all four wheels am have speed sensors fitted but would all of them be faulty or can one cause the fault :confused:
Also would he not get an abs mil light error on the dash if the speed sensor was faulty?.

Yes , if the wheel speed sensors were faulty then there would be esp/tc lights..

I did think that. His car has no lights on the dash which is why we're confused about this.

Got to get more info off him as he's had the dsg speed sensor replace in the box but didn't work. wonder if he's had all the codes cleared.
