RNS510 Firmware Upgrade Dealer/Supplier

(1/19) > >>

pazz:
Is anyone aware of a company or Volkswagen dealer who would offer to upgrade the RNS-510 firmware?

Call me a bit of a girl :pomppomp:, but I dont want to risk bricking my RNS-510.

I enquired at my local dealer but they tried to sell me a £100+ maps DVD  :congrats:

I'd like 266x as I'm stuck on 900 at the moment, I've got a new "Q" gateway ready to be fitted/coded.

Is this an A revision unit ?, Going to 2660+ can cause more issues than just needing the new canbus

also you may as well do it yourself, because whoever does it will probably make you sign a disclaimer in case it goes wrong

Phil Mcavity:
I cant even get my unit to show me what Firmware is installed. Mines a Version B but when i press the buttons <>+ i, then setup, nothing happens!!

Ive also tried just holding down the setup button, but all that does it bring up the Radio service test page showing FM/AM/DAB sig strenghts?

Any idea's chaps?

it needs VCDS to enable it on newer units (an adaption change)

this one i think

Using Vagcom/VCDS open Channel 37 – Navigation, go into adaption and change channel 50 to 1 (will be 0).

To enter the test/setup mode when the RNS 510 is operating press and hold the setup button, keep holding it when the radio menu appears and shortly after the test menu appears . I had to reboot my unit after coding it but it may be possible a power cycle is enough.
